Cask at Shrewsbury Arms, Stafford. Pours a pale straw with a small foamy almost white head and excellent lacing. There’s hops and grains in the aroma plus a hint of citrus. In the mouth it is sweetness on top of bitterness to start with but the latter increases so eventually swap the roles over. Flavour has floral hops, pine and ginger with hints of biscuits and berry fruits coming later leading to a slightly dry finish. This is decent.

On cask @ the Red Fox on the Wirral.
Appearance - amber with an off-white head.
Nose - orange, bread and herbs.
Taste - bitter orange, brown bread and green bitterness.
Palate - challenging and slightly gnarly bitterness, but worth sticking with, as becomes very drinkable down the line.
Overall - as per the palate above, worth working at.

Hand pulled half pint in the Stag & Scotch, Newport, Shropshire on 16th June 2025. Almost black with a beige crown, moody looking thing. Malty in nature with chocolate and coffee flavours too the fore. Nice!

Dark and inky. Foamy beige head. Aroma has polite mocha and berries. Flavourwise the spur coffee berries dominate, with a coffee edge. Medium bodied. Oily. Soft-average carbonation. Long dry astringent finish. Enjoyable characterful Porter.

Cask at Pretty Bricks, Walsall. Pours golden yellow with a small off-white head and good lacing. The aroma has floral hops, yeast and melon. In the mouth it is decidedly sweet with a creamy texture. Flavour has butter, floral hops ad berry fruits plus hints of citrus and kiwi. Finish is slightly dry. This is reasonable but somewhat nondescript.
