Description
Located in the Finistère region, the Brasserie de Bretagne (formerly Brasserie Britt) has existed since 1998 and brews Breton craft beers. It is distinguished by the creation of “innovative” beers such as Britt Rosée and event beers such as Britt with Special Sochi Vodka or even Britt Do Brasil. Production (in hl per year): 72,000. Other brands are Ar-men, Dremmwel and Sann Erwan.
It is in the coastal town of Concarneau that we develop our recipes in an 8,500 m2 workshop, combining quality raw materials with the mastery of our know-how, inspired by a rich artisanal tradition.

33 cl. bottle @ home, gift from Jan-Willem. Hazy amber red with a white head. Raspberry and cherry aroma. Malty sweet taste with the fruits being not too dominant. One of the more enjoyable, not overly sweet, fruit beers.

33 cl. bottle @ home, gift from Jan-Willem. Light hazy light yellow with a white head. Yeasty fruity aroma with some citrus. Also some spicy creaminess from the buckwheat. Sweet taste with a light bitter finish. Nice fresh blonde.

Das Bier ist benannt nach Ivo Hélory von Kermartin (frz. Yves Hélory de Kermartin, bret. Erwan Helouri a Gervarzhin) einem mittelalterlichen Pfarrer und Offizial des Bistums Tréguier. Dies entsprach einer richterlichen Stelle und er wurde bald als Anwalt der Armen bekannt. Dies brachte ihm 1347 von Papst Clemens VI. eine Heiligsrpechung und eine Verehrung als Nationalheiligen der Bretagne ein. Das Bier ist ein IPA mit belgischen Einschlag, was in Frankreich sehr beliebt ist. So beginnt es mit einer leicht malzigen Würzigkeit (auch ein bisschen nach weihnachtlichen Gewürzen) und geht dann nahtlos über in ein etwas leichteres IPA. Ein feines Bier mit einer tollen Geschichte. Wobei es interessant ist dass man bei einer Google-Suche nach Erwann anfangs nur das Bier findet...

Kalea Bier-Adventkalender 2.12.2018 (Frankreich-Version) Ein Bio-Bier, das mit regionalen (lt. Etikett: keltischen) Malz gebraut wird. Es erinnert an leicht getoastetes Weißbrot mit leicht herben Aufstrich mit Käutern. Aromen findet man quer über die Wiese. Kein alltägliches Bier, das mir eigentlich ganz gut gefallen hat.

Kalea-Bieradventkalender Frankreich-Version 2018 Ein Bier, das wieder voll an Schwarzbrot erinnert. Das ist wohl mit blé noir, also schwarzen Korn gemeint. Dabei hat es auch einen Hopfenstich. EIn interessantes Bier mit allerlei untypischen Geschmäckern. Vielleicht kein Top-Bier, aber man kann es ruhig mal probieren.
