An amber beer with a huge off-white head. The aroma is sweet with notes of caramel and sirup and corn. The flavor is sweet with caramel dominating, but with notes of metal and sirup and corn lying in the background. In the beginning the mouthfeel is watery, but then You can feel the alcohol, so it gets thicker while in your mouth, and ends up with a dry alcoholic note on Your palate.

A caramel colored beer with a fine, but disappearing, beige head. The aroma is quite sweet with notes of caramel, corn, and hints of hops. The flavor is malty with notes of straw, caramel, corn, slight spiciness, and a dry hoppy end. While the body is thin.

Bottled. Mahogany colour, creamy head. Aroma of sweat and dried apricots. Sweet, roasty and very fruity. Medium bodied. Mellow, soapy mouthfeel. Some sweet wort flavours lead up to a syrupy finish.

(Bottle 33 cl) Dark brown with a reddish glow and a beige head. Malty, soft and smooth with a light sweetish touch. Not at all a bad brew. Wonder if this is yet another Vestfyen copy of a Refsvindinge beer - the original being "Mors Stout". 090105

(Bottle 50 cl) Beautiful, clear amber coloured beer with an impressively tall, light beige head. Pronounced sweetness (brewing syrup added) very full body balanced by a marked bitterness in the finish. Licorice is added to this. A very harmonious Christmas beer, actually this is exactly how I would expect a Danish beer of this style to be. Well done Vestfyen - and nice to see what you can really achieve if you care to. 261104

(Bottle 50 cl) Very dark if not completely black, with a small brownish head. Surprisingly ligh-bodied and easily drinkable. Weak notes of coffee and a slightly roasted character. Sort of a Stout Light. 130904

Bottled (BB 12/2005)
Dark ruby, almost opaque color, decent tanned head. Aroma has roasted malts, cold coffee and tobacco. Quite thin. Roasted with hints of licorice. Bitterness mentioned in the description is quite nonexistent, more oily coffee aftertaste. Not too bad anyhow, seems a bit underestimated here.

(Bottle 33 cl) Reddish brown with a tall, creamy almost greasy head. Caramelish and sweetish from the brown sugar. Notes of nuts as well. This is a cheaper version of A-Z Ale, but considering it’s price it probably has the best quality/money ratio in Denmark. 240603

(Bottle 33 cl) Pretty, pale amber (colourant) with a fine head. Malty flavour with the typical Vestfyen tang (although not completely unpleasant). Weak sweetness and a distinct hoppy finish. Basically just a strong lager with darker malts. 140303

(Bottle 33 cl) As "Vestfyen Påskekrudtugle" Neat, fully golden colour (partly from added colour) and a rather lively head. Aroma reminding me of cream soap... Watery body with a malty and light bitter feel. Not really unpleasant and not a bad choice considering the price. 120300
