Alaskan Brewing Company
Microbrewery
in Juneau,
Alaska,
United States 🇺🇸
Associated Venue: Alaskan Brewing Company
Established in 1986
In 1986, 28-year-olds Marcy and Geoff Larson reignited that tradition when they opened the Alaskan Brewing Company, the 67th independent brewery in the country and the first brewery in Juneau since Prohibition. Alaskan beers reflect many of the same characteristics of beers that were brewed here during the gold rush era. From the historically based Alaskan Amber recipe to alder-smoked malts and Sitka spruce tips, Alaskan beers reflect Juneau’s local brewing history and innovation.

Pours a lightly hazy orange, good head of foam, good retention and lacing.
Smell is very hoppy with citrus, bitterness reminds me of dry hopping.
Taste is citrus, pine, again has that dry hopped flavour to it, bit of tropical fruit and toasted malt.
Good mouthfeel, good beer.
Drank at Mountain Hops Brewhouse.

In my opinion, it is a decent IPA, subtle side of pine tree, pineapple, lemon, good hop and bitterness, a bit malty, on the ICE to Stuttgart, 29.11.18, buying it in one drink of the world, Zürich, going after to Munich to meet my ex friends from my CFF formation and in Stuttgart, I went for the first time at Heinrich 3000, Kornwestheim.

Aromas are a nice blend of resin, MJ, citrus and malt. Flavors are similar to nose with nice balance between bitter, sweet and carbonation. Oddly full mouth yet slightly thin. Good overall.

Smell is grapefruit citrus, pine, toasted malt and some dank notes.
Taste is grapefruit, pine, some dank notes, toasted malt, quite solid of an APA.
Good medium body, I might want to drink this again but it's a limited release.

12 oz. bottle, pours a clear dark amber with a medium off-white head. Aroma has some resinous hops, grapefruit peel, and big bready malts. Flavour is super old school, with loads of sticky resinous hops, pine, and bready caramel malt. Sticky, very hpppy, and grapefruit, with a big malt backbone that never overpowers. This is great — takes me back to the 2010s.
