19.2 oz. can from Total Wine, San Antonio, TX. Pours a clear gold color with a very large off-white head and excellent retention. Good lacing. Mild hoppy aroma. Mild hops and bitterness too. Not juicy. Tastes more like a hoppy amber ale. Still more bitter than I prefer, but more drinkable than I expected. Medium body and medium carbonation. The 6.8% ABV is very well hidden.

A name change apparently, I have a 12 oz can of Alaskan Kolsch, same ABV according to the label. I believe I found this beer at a Total Wine in Dallas, it is cooled off and going into a glass now. A fully transparent, gold-yellow liquid with a momentary top of very fine, very white bubbles. The nose is citrus and grain, unsurprising for the style. I take a taste and get mostly lemon, white bread, a bit of yellow fruit sweetness, malt and find it just slightly bitter. Somewhat better than expected but then I do find Kolsches an easily approachable style of beer.

Pour is a cloudy orange with a large fluffy white head. Aroma is pine and honey malt. Flavor is a dry caramel malt with a little citrus hops hiding in the back round. This is neither hazy nor juicy. This is a old school west coast IPA and average one at best.

Pour is a clear golden with a large white head. Aroma is a nice pils malt. Flavor is more nice pils malt with a grainy sweet finish. It's OK, a little on the sweeter side.

0.355l bottle many thanks to Lore. A bit opaque amber body with a thin beige head. Aroma and taste of orange zest, toffee, nuts, burnt sugar, toast, raisins and some apples. Kinda like a doppelbock with lower ABV. Tasty brew.

Moderately hazy orange and copper coloured body with a thinnish, relatively fast-dying just off-white head that just leaves a thin layer after a few minutes above the 50 per cent opaque body. Aroma of oranges, curacao, mangoes and a dash of dry lager yeast with some biscuity and lightly grainy malt characteristics coupled with a bit stronger than usual sweetness in the nose and some dryness, too. Medium-bodied; Strong crisp grassy and very orange-y flavours dominate with a lot of herbal notes towards the back, but the light sweetness and ever-so-slight tartness of tropical notes is the strongest here with some dry qualities and a decent amount of residual fruit-based sugars on the finish. Aftertaste shows some mango and citrusey flavours with some decent sugars and alcohol bite, but no passionfruit notes, not at the end or at any-point during this one - those have seemingly vanished before they were even in here. Overall, a decent enough fruity beer with a lot of dry malt kicks, some alcohol and pungency, but enough dryness, sweetness and other (citrus) fruit characteristics to make this enjoyable throughout, despite it being strong and pungent. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Brown Jug in Fairbanks, Alaska on 24-June-2021 for US$2,99, with a 'best by' 07-June-2021 sampled about a year and a half after that date, at my house here in Washington on Beer (and Day #22) of my 2022 (self-created) advent calendar, but way after the fact on 05-January-2023.

Bottle. Hazy copper, creamy very light beige head. Citrus, melon, floral notes, caramel, pretty smooth for the ABV.
