Description
Hammerton Brewery is a microbrewery based in Islington brewing small batch beers with the aim to bring great tasting beer back to the borough and also re-establish the Hammerton Brewery name in London.
Hammerton Brewery originally began brewing in London in 1868. Sadly it ceased to brew in the late 1950s and was later demolished. In 2014, a member of the Hammerton family decided to resurrect the family name in brewing. It also brings brewing back to Islington, a London borough with a great beer making heritage.

Keg @ House of Hammerton, Highbury. Very dark, it has a strength-infused fudge-brownie taste, and a deep tasting one. There’s plenty of nose and although the brew is excellent, you couldn’t drink too much of this in one go given its depth.

Keg at Pegasus, Canterbury, 04/06/22. Black with a good sized tan cap that stays for the show. Nose is dark malts, metallic nip, cocoa powder, toffee. Taste comprises roasted bite, charr, spice, chocolate, toffee, dried fruits. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light drying close. Decent enough stout.

Tap@Pratts and Payne, Streatham (01/06/2022) - light hazed orange with a white head. Sweet exotic fruity and sweet malty aroma and taste, notes of mango and passionfruit, some citrus grapefruit and satsuma undertones, pale malty backing, bitter edged close. Ok if verging a tad too sweet.
