Description
Hammerton Brewery is a microbrewery based in Islington brewing small batch beers with the aim to bring great tasting beer back to the borough and also re-establish the Hammerton Brewery name in London.
Hammerton Brewery originally began brewing in London in 1868. Sadly it ceased to brew in the late 1950s and was later demolished. In 2014, a member of the Hammerton family decided to resurrect the family name in brewing. It also brings brewing back to Islington, a London borough with a great beer making heritage.

Bottle shared at Craft Beer Co. Islington - London. Many thanks to Dave! Pours unclear orange with a frothy, white head. The nose holds rich orange, light wood, rind, minerals. Medium sweet flavour, lightly bready, with rindy orange, drying flinty minerals. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with a bit more flint, gooey orange, rindy bitterness, oily pine. Not bad.

Keg at the London Brewers Market. Pours hazy gold with a creamy, white head. The nose holds zesty citrus, lemon and lime in particular, some dry wheat. Light sweet flavour with crisp, yet restrained bitter lemon peel, more zesty character, light bready notes. Light bodied with average carbonation. Fairly clean on the finish, with more zesty lemon, lime, wheat flakes, some melony notes. Good, refreshing.
