Cask at the Birmingham beer festival 2012. Dark brown clear pour with a broken white frothy head. Very malty aroma with hints of fruit. Big rich but smooth malty flavour with some sour liqourice on the palate. A very different ale that deserves a top rating.

Cask at Weatherspoons;I’ve had a few Beer Geek offering and have been mostly disappointed. This however is decent, almost pitch black strong malt and coffee aroma, which is reflected in the taste.

Cask@Reading Beer Festival 2012. Amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma is fruits, wood, caramel and some mild bready notes as well. Flavour is fruity, nectary with mild caramel, some tropical fruit juice and mild honeylike notes.

Cask at Walsall Beer Festival. Clear amber pour with very little head (cask with no handpump) Nice enough porter. Would like to try it with some carbonation.

Cask at Walsall Beer Festival. Hazy brown pour with a small bubbly tan head. Aroma of dark fruits, caramel and malt. Flavor of sweet malt, dark fruits, raisin and caramel. Thin mouthfeel and low carbonation.
