Gekocht in Middelkerke tijdens Bier Aan Zee aan de stand van Craywinckelhof op 21-06-2025. En thuis mijn smaakpapillen aan het werk gezet op 11-11-2025.
Kraaike tripel blond whisky infused wordt gebrouwen door brouwerij Craywinckelhof, deze werd al opgericht als kleinschalige hoevebrouwerij in 1893, maar tijdens de eerste wereldoorlog werd al het brouwmateriaal in beslag genomen. In 2010 besloot Louis Schrevens & Maria Van der Elst (de 5de generatie ondertussen) om de brouwerij terug in ere te herstellen, ze is gevestigd in een mooie gerestaureerde vierkants hoeve met B&B waar de moderne microbrouwerij ook brouwt voor derden.
KRAAIKE TRIPEL BLOND WHISKY INFUSED is een helder goudkleurig bier dat veel wit dik-wollig schuim aanmaakt dat sterk aan je glaswand blijft kleven. Het blijft ook normaal stabiel maar naar het eind toe heb je nog slechts een dun fijn laagje over. Op de bodem van de fles bevind zich nog een klein gistdepot en je ziet maar weinig fijne CO2 belletjes naar boven parelen.
HET AROMA:
Zoetig, beetje citrus, mout, hopbittertje, wat muf, kruidig, een houttint, vanille, beetje alcohol.
DE SMAAK:
Zoet, mout, kruidig, vanille, whisky tint, beetje alcohol.
HET MONDGEVOEL:
Volle body, licht bitterdroog, licht romige textuur, eerst een prikkelend koolzuurgas overgaand naar normale prikkeling.
DE NASMAAK:
Zeer licht plakkerig, zoetig, licht droog, mout, kruidig, de alcohol en de vanille vloeien samen met wat bourbon lichtjes uit. Heel ver in de nadronk toch wat bitterheid.
HET TOTAALGEVOEL:
Een complex bier.
HET VERDICT:
Zacht en lekker biertje, weinig whiskygevoel evenwel. Toch wat warmer te proeven.

Bottle clearly states the beer being brewed at Dok's , Essene Gushing to thick cream to tan head over cola-coloured beer. Chocolate, mocha, and dry wood; melanoidins, plywood, café noir cookies. Sweet, chocolate, mocha, sweet coffee with coffeecream. Well-bodied, chewy, good carbonation, long lasting flavours. Nothing amiss, absolutely, but also nothing new, nothing special. And gushing. A little cloudy light pale blond beer, no head. Aroma: malty, very yeasty, quite some alcohol, meh. Not smelling much whisky here? MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: a little bitter, pretty yeasty, banana, gentle malty touch, more yeast, pretty sweet and sugary actually. Aftertaste: oxidized, very yeasty, banana, slightly bitter and dry in the finish. Not a big fan of Belgian Tripel style beers that are put on barrels. Often the yeast is overpowering all the subtleness of the barrels.

Clear blond beige beer, small creamy head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: very yeasty, banana, bit sweet and sugary impression. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: sweet and sugary start, banana, yeasty, meh, pretty plain and boring.

F: big, white, good retention.
C: blonde, hazy.
A: citrus, floral, peach, spicy, grapefruits.
T: light malty base, citrus, light bready, apples, bit watery grapefruit, decent bitterness, medium carbonation, hay, bit like saison, very drinkable for the style, enjoyed.

33cl bottle (9%) from Carrefour market @ in Tervuren near Brussels. F: huge, white, long lasting. C: pale gold, hazy. A: malty, floral, nice fresh hoppy, bit woody, not much on whisky yet ok. T: full malty base, banana, apples, woody touch, spicy, red apples peels, barrel is quite hidden here, bready, ok not bad, enjoyed.

T: medium malty base, nice dark berries, spicy, dark dried fruits, plums, bit herbal, caramel yet dry on the palate, medium carbonation, good for the style, enjoyed.
