Belgium isn’t the biggest place on the map, but if it’s premium beers you’re looking for, this is definitely the best place to be. Great taste from a small country.
Gigant taps into these powerful traditions to take beer into the new now, with an innovative approach to surprising ingredients, creating a sophisticated, cosmopolitan palate.

Bottle at home, golden orange beer, small head. Aroma is peach, yeast, fruit, hops, citrus. Taste is the same, bitter, sweet, malt, hops, fruity, yeast, not too bad.

Pours slightly hazed blonde. Medium sized, stable white head. Scent is fun, fresh and crisp for a tripel, malty, fairly mild yet present banana esters. mild 'green' hoppyness. Taste is medium to medium high bitterness. Touch of red fruit pops up, gentle maltyness. Apparently made with saison yeast, which explains the fairly sharp and dry body, but where does the banana come from than, and where are the phenols? Quite fun of a drink, as stated here before did - classic with a twist. What many brewers set out to do, but is rarely achieved. Very well made. Balanced, interesting enough, yet classic enough as well.

Pours a hazy, darker blonde (still, fairly light for an amber ale) . Medium small white head. Scent is over-the-top orange to me (and zesty, loads of that white 'in between skin' ) grapefruit like. OP'ing all beer-basic elements. Don't really get anything woody here. Taste is fairly bitter, malty base far more recognizable here - but oranges still take up most of the taste. Sweet, but enough bitterness to prevent it from being cloying. Medium body, medium to medium high carbo. OK, decent, but surely to much oranges, and a bit to swet for me. The base seems surprisingly boring, as this is the third beer I had by them, but a let-down after the 2 previous ones. Still, kudo's for trying at least something different than IPA / Blonde / tripel / dubbel within the first 4 beers.

Pours fairly hazy yellowblonde. Medium sized, stable white head. Scent is malty, citrussy and sharp. lemongrass and zesty. Taste is sharp, tart , malty, lactic acid, but balanced and enough to make it interesting, yet not unpleasant. citrussy hoparoma goes along fairly well. Not an amazing beer, but it does kinda work.

Pours a fairly unclear blonde. Medium large to large white head. Scent is hoppy, with some passion fruit and citrus taking the top spots. Kveik provides the spicyness underneath. Minor maltyness (white bread). Taste is sharp, intense bitterness (far more intense than expected) , sharp mouthfeel, malty base. Unexpectedly WC like, and still quite balanced. Medium carbo. Kveik doesn't overpower by it's spicyness. No real pine character, but all and all, way different than expected and reminding of a westcoast, if anything. Pleasant surprise !

Fluffy, white head, fast gone ove big- & lively bubbled, clear golden beer. Sour aroma with lemon, sour milk, lemonbalm, green herbs, green eggplant, Thai herbs. Herbal, orangepeel, curaçoa, again these oriental herbs. Faint, weak citrushints. Light body, medium to good carbonation, some oily traces in the texture. OK, not special. Drinks away nicely, of course. I Thanks to Stef! /I

Sour IPA from a new contract brewer in Adinkerke near De Panne, located in the southwestern most part of Belgium at the seaside. Can at Kantien. Snow white, moussy, cobweb-lacing, slowly breaking but generally very stable head, cloudy lemony-yellow blonde robe. Aroma of moldy lemons, bread crust, unripe mandarin, stale sweat, withering lemonbalm, freshly cut cucumber, lemongrass. Crisp, fizzy onset, minerally carbonation but acceptable for an IPA at session strength as far as I am concerned, clean unripe banana and green apple fruitiness, sweetish but only subduedly so; supple, white-bready pale maltiness, feeling relatively ‘full’ for its ABV and gently soured by a soft lime-like lactic acid edge, shortly before an equally gentle but confident hop bitterness sets in, connecting the dots by marrying its own citrusiness with the lime-like effect of the kettle souring – an example of perfect balancing. The whole ends zesty, bright, dryish and utterly refreshing on a searing hot summer evening, in short, the perfect beer for a heatwave like we are going through now... Very decent for a newcomer, no doubt Brew Society’s expertise plays a part in that, but in any case I am looking forward to trying more Gigant beers if this is their normal quality standard.

Rusty dark orange colour. Really has the profile of orange flavoured herb liqueur. Technically good but not my taste.
