Description
Note to Brewver members:-

The majority of beers have historically been released as 'Canterbury - XYZ' so should appear in the beer listings without the brewery name.

There is also a range of beers, usually only available at the brewpub itself and smaller batch, released as 'Foundry - XYZ'. These beers therefore appear with the Foundry name first in the beer listings.

Canterbury Brewers is a traditional microbrewery and the only one based within the city walls of Canterbury. We produce a range of modern and fresh cask-conditioned ales using only the finest quality floor-malted barley, hops and yeast available. With our distinctive recipes and our beautiful new brewery situated on Whitehorse Lane, we aim to add something different to the ever-growing and vibrant micro-brew scene in Kent. The Foundry Brewery, which opened in June 2011, is in sight of Canterbury Cathedral and just off the high street, and includes a restaurant, bar and an eight-barrel brewery. Brewery tours and tastings run regularly, and our restaurant can be booked for special events and functions - just get in touch!

Pours golden, clear, with a clingy white head. Aroma- fruity hops, orange, pineapple, slight unusual dirty water hints. Taste- very bitter hops, pine, orange peel, pineapple juice. Bitter long finish. Good, apart from the aroma.

Keg, labelled as 9.1%. Appearance is a murky brown/dark red, with a pinkish head which doesn’t last long. Aroma- cherry, dark fruit undertones, hint of oak barrel in the background. Taste- quite intense sour cherries, cherry skins, tart fruit, a bit boozy. All about the cherries in this one.

Bottle shared at the Cafe Abseits tasting during the Bamberg Excursion. Many thanks to Ian for this one. Pours mostly clear gold with a frothy white topping. Sweet, with some dirty hay bitterness, light dough. Decent balance. Light bodied with average carbonation. Some hay in the finish, pale malt sugars. OK stuff.

Cask. Pours very dark brown with a small beige head. Malty and raisiny aromas, and the taste is chocolate, more dark fruits than hoppy fruitiness. Smooth mouthfeel, short finish.
