Description
Our Brewery is based in North Wales and located in the Plassey, it is the oldest micro brewery in Wales surrounded by glorious countryside. Richard moved into the brewery in 2017 and started making real ale from our 12-barrel brew plant. We focus on brewing a core range with some seasonal specials. Our ethos is to only brew beer we want to drink as we are a small brewery and we want every brew to count. You can try the range of beer in pubs in England and Wales and of course in our own Taproom in Wrexham. We also sell bottles here online and mini kegs too. I hope you enjoy drinking the ale as much as we enjoy brewing it. Liz Lever – Founder.

Formed following the takeover of New Plassey Brewery. Magic Dragon brewery started brewing in Spring 2017. New Plassey (prev Plassey and Gertie Sweet) is separately listed.

Handpull cask at the Salmon, Leicester. Mid-brown, hint of purple. Translucent with a medium-sized buff head. There's coffee in the aroma, sure, but lots of plum, hedgerow, a smidge of chocolate. Sweet taste, again a good dollop of plum. Tongue-coating bitterness on the finish. Body is a bit thin but there's some soft carbonation that lifts it up. A little bit of a revelation is this.

Cask at Cromwells, Shrewsbury. Pours golden yellow with minimal off-white head. The aroma is mainly malts with a hint of ginger. In the mouth it lies somewhere between sweet and bitter with mixed hops which gradually come to dominate. Some honey too and traces of malts and herbs leading to a slightly bitter finish. It’s reasonable but nothing special.

Cask at Tapps, Llandudno. Aroma is predominantly malty with an almost hazy citrus element. Clear copper gold. Creamy white head. Flavourwise it's Light-medium bitter. Citrus and quinine. Sweet fruity hints nto the finish. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. A trad brewery playing with US hops. Easy drinking and inoffensive but the hops just feel underutilised.
