2018: After 10 years of trading the time was now to step it up a gear. Local business woman Kirsty Ridge purchased the invested £50,000 in new equipment allowing us to increase brewing capacity and introduce new beers.
2020: After 12 years of Stringers we decided we needed a new name and look, and so we decided to rebrand. To celebrate our Cumbrian heritage we renamed to Lakeland Brewhouse.
At Lakeland Brewhouse, brewing beer is not just a job – it is a passion. Decades of experience are poured into every pint we create at our 100% renewably-powered brewhouse in the south Lakeland town of Ulverston.

Cask at GBBF ’13, 15/08/13 thanks to Ronny for the pour. Light black/v dark mahogony brown with a thinnish light tan head that clears to a swirl/edgeing. Nose is dark toffee, light smoke, mineral notes, light chocolate. Taste comprises cardboard, light smoke, dark toffee, thinner than the aroma. Light to medium in body, a little on the watery side. So so stout affair.

Taste comprises dark toffee fudge, treacle toffee, dark fruits, dates, sugars, molasses, tobacco, touch of booze. Full bodied, fine carbonation, roasty finale with a little warming alcohol. Ok impy - a little basic/1D in its make up but the alcohol was well integrated for 9%+.
