[Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading] Reddish amber with a moderate white head. Toffee, fudge, stewed apple and (oddly) tomato juice, with a rather metallic bitterness to finish. It’s got a nice smooth creamy mouthfeel, but the flavours are rather muted. Not great.

Aroma has woody notes, raisins and toffee notes. Also the alcohol is present. Flavour has woody notes, alcohol, raisins, plums and toffee. Too boozy, perhaps this could improve by age. 7-3-7-3-16 = 3.6 25 cl bottle vintage 2010 @ home Rated on 26.4.2013
Aroma has raisins, some moldy tones and sweet malt. Flavour has sweet malt and rather intense licorice character. A bit sherry- and medicine-like. Palate is flat and low on CO2. The licorice character this has gained during the years is nice – but then again this has some corners rounded too much. 7-4-8-4-15 = 3.7

Bottled@vPBFII. Amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma is raisins, alcohol, some glue and mild fruity notes too. Flavour is very much the same with the big note being on the glues.

Bottle from Beers of Europe cons 2013-03-31 Uddingston 2010 Vintage! AR: vinos, plum cake, grapes AP: deep coloured mahogny, wee stouthy/creamy beige head F: smooth, vinos, warming feeling, plum cake, raisins butter toffee bar, wee brandy, sugary feeling, a bit dry, medium carbonation and bitterness, finsish brittish butter cake stuffed with varios dried fruits, is this a Tomas Hardy rip of? Store for a couple of more years?

Cask at the Cleveland Arms, London. Pours clear amber with a fine, frothy off-white head. Bready malts in the nose, faint toast and fruity sugars. Light to medium sweet flavor with lots of simple, bready malts, light dryness, some orange citrus, faint toffee. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish with mellow, leafy bitterness, nips of dry toffee, dry andtoasty bread. Simple, fine.

Bouteille 500ml sous le nom "O’Hanlon’s Wheat Beer". De couleur dorée et voilée. Nez de levures fruitées (agrumes) aux notes épicées (coriandre), moyen de blé et de céréales avec des notes de houblon floral et herbeux. Rondeur moyenne en bouche avec un pétillement moyen ainsi qu’une texture légèrement crémeuse. Goût de levures fruitées aux petites notes acides (agrumes, surtout citron, très légères notes de pêches) et légèrement épicées (coriandre) lors de l’entrée en bouche suivi d’un moyen-léger goût de blé avec des traces de malt pâle du genre mielleux puis en finale, une légère amertume de houblon herbeux aux petites notes florales vient se rajouter. Post-goût court-moyen et un peu sec, légèrement amer de houblon herbeux avec un léger goût fruité (zeste d’agrumes).
