Description
Since 1996, our brewing philosophy has been quite simple – to brew memorable, well balanced and flavourful beers, regardless of the style.

From light and crisp, to malt forward and smooth, all the way to loaded with hops… each of our brews are crafted using 100% malted barley, the finest hops, water and yeast.

Founded in Kelowna, BC, now brewing in our expanded facility with Big Rock Brewery in North Vancouver’s Brewery Creek district, drop by if you’re in the neighbourhood and we’ll show you first hand how we make great beer.

Bottle - Pumpkin spices and nice pumpkin. Orange clear copper with a rich beige head. Pumpkin and spices up front with an unpleasant bitterness that follows through to the finish. Not that great.

Bottle: Poured a black color ale with a medium size foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma consists of roasted malt with light dry bitter notes. Taste is also dominated by dry roasted alt with some hoppy bitter and dry notes. Body is a bit light for style with good carbonation. I thought this was too bitter and almost astringent with the body too thin for the style.

Limited edition at 8.5%. Aroma: Surprising caramel notes with wood accents; like it had been wood aged. Candi sugar, jelly bean and orange are completing this uncommon nose for an IPA. But still a very complex and strong palette. Appearance: Gold / copper, slightly hazy, thick head, rocky, medium long lasting and sticking well to glass. Taste: Attack is showing a superb balance between malt and hop, between sugar and bitterness. The following action is happening mostly in salty and bitter notes of hops with a very and long finish. A lot of caramel, butterscotch, toffee, orange zest. Bitterness finish is showing herbal and resinous hops lasting several minutes. Mouthfeel is creamy, full and round. Really a two part tasting experience: malty and sweet to start with ; bitter and dry as finish. Two very independent characteristics. Nevertheless, the tasting experience is extremely interesting. A very particular IPA but remaining excellent.

Bottle - Chocolate malts, caramel and bourbon. Jet brown with almost no head. Caramel and light whiskey comes through, but an odd sourness and thin body Still decent, just not quite there.

Bottle from the LCBO. A deep hazy amber with a generous pillowy gold head that leaves a nice amount of lace. Nose is pine and caramel and bread. Lots of hop bitterness but heavily malted (maybe too much) to balance things. Alcohol warmth at the end. Lively creamy mouth feel. Quite good but I prefer their Regular or Black IPA.

Bottle - Roast malts and some piney, spicey hops. Jet black with a rich brown head. Dark roast chocolate malts, some dark fruit and a bitter hoppy finish. You also get a bit of alcohol heat at the end, but I must admit this is one of my favorite Tree brews. Nicely done.

Draft - Caramel dominates the nose. Clear golden witha thin white head. Caramel, some grains, mild bitterness and a sweet and hoppy finish. A bit too sweet for my taste.

Draft - Sweet green apple. Clear gold, no head or effervescence. Think jolly rancher, very candy sweet with a mild tart finish. Not bad on a hot day but a bit sweet.
