From tap at Ølbaren. Pours dark brown to black with a dense/creamy light tan/off-white head. Roasted malt aroma with a light coffee note. Smooth and almost creamy mouthfeel. Distinct bitter flavour and a light roasted note. Bitter and roasted flavoured finish.

On tap at Flying Saucer. Has a dark copper color with a creamy light tan head. The aroma is light malt and floral notes. The taste is a light malt with a bitter finish. A decent irish ale from Murphys.

Black with creamy head. Week aroma with notes of roasted malt. Sweet flavor with roasted malt, coffee, light chocolate and tar. Ends a bit watery.

Draught. Clear dark copper colour. Big tan head, creamy and very stable. Sweet flavour, quite malty with a fresh, flowery hoppiness. The finish is slightly watery with a hint of bitterness. Low carbonation. OK creamy mouthfeel. Not as bad as I remembered.

Bottle (Irish is no longer on the label). Interesting aromas. Started sort of citrus, moved to a touch of chocolate, and finished grassy. Reddish amber color with a decent white head that actually laced mildly. Thin to medium body with carbonation that is neither sharp nor fizzy nor creamy. It’s definitely carbonated though. The flavor is odd. It’s darkish malt, with slightly sour grassy hop. The finish is actually a bit astringent, after the sugars drift away. A little tobacco at the end?

great tasting draught! I havent had it yet out of bottle, don’t know if i want to. It really is like a milkshake, thick and hardy like a guiness (but better). I forget how much i like this beer

The can looks good, the beer in the glass incredible - how can a beer look better? Fine aroma like coffee and chocolate. Tastes modest malty, fine finish. Really good beer.

tap in a pub in Florence (or maybe it was Rome) - Maybe this beer is just better on tap in Italy than in the bottles as I thought it was quite good. It pours clear red with a one finger white head that sticks around and laces nicely. The aroma is caramel malt and the flavor is a moderately intense caramel malt with some roast character. It’s sweet and easy drinking with a little mild hops. Good session brew. Finally, I found a good Italian beer while I was there, though I didn’t know it was Italian.
