Description
LOC Brewery brews quirky, craft beers that are a voyage of discovery for the taste senses. It is our ambition to conquer the world with this. LOC Brewery wants to experiment with flavours, herbs, fruit and even let beers mature in wooden barrels.
LOC Brewery is an initiative of Roy Maas (he left in 2018), Erwin Schellekens, Daniel Tano and Paul Cools. The four know each other because their children were in the same class, so they met in the schoolyard. In December 2014, LOC Brewery started brewing small amounts of beer. Since then, brewing has accelerated to meet the demand from tastings and events. The first beer was launched in June 2015.

Bottle @ train. Opaque black color, huge foamy beige head that lasts for a long time and leaves decent lacing. Aroma is malts, firm roast, malt and hop bitter. Tastes about the same: malts, firm roast, roasted malt bitter. Very bitter overall. Decent body, medium carbonation. I like it but it’s really bitter so you gotta like that in order to enjoy this beer.

Bottle @ home. Opaque pitch black color, nice full sized thick dense brown head. Aroma is malts, liquorice, dark malts. Tastes about the same: malts, dark malts, malt bitter, liquorice. Perhaps a light coffee roast, coffee roast bitter and moderately dry aftertaste. Medium body, suitable moderate carbonation. Not bad at all, quite useful.

Bottle @ home. Slightly unclear dark orange to reddish color, medium sized off-white head that lasts for quite a while. Aroma is malts, some hops. Nothing at this point really pointing towards a double IPA imo. Taste malts, hops, lightly fruity, lightly sticky hops, lightly resinous and a nice mix between malt bitter and hop bitter. Medium body, suitable quite soft carbonation. In the end: not a bad beer at all and a decent DIPA.

From bottle at Winterbierfestival Gouda 2016. Hazy, golden yellow with a thin, frothy, tan head. Sweetish, fruity-grassy aroma of lemon, mango and some pine. Slightly bitter, grassy-fruity taste of lemon, mango and some pine, followed by a short, medium bitter, grassy finish. Thin to medium body, flat. Nice!

Bottle shared at Winterbierfestival Gouda thanks to Benzai (I think). Thanks! Murky golden with creamy white head. Lots of aromatic hops up front with lime and lemon juice, chicory, grass, some marijuana, mineral water. Light sweet and medium bitter. A bit under medium bodied with quite dry feel. Nice one.

Pint Winterbierfestival 2016 , nog voordat ik een bier had kunnen bestellen stond deze voor mijn neus, dankzij René en Eugéne. Helder oranje/geel met licht gelige kraag. Aroma is fris, sinaasappel, gist. Smaken zijn redelijk bitter, matig zoet, zacht, redelijk hoppig, gras, den, bittertje in de afdronk. Matige body, normale co2, prima smaken
