750ml bottle. Cloudy pinkish dark golden colour with huge, frothy to creamy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Unspecific fruity and minimally piney, hoppy aroma. Taste is minimally to moderately sweet malty, unspecific fruity, dry to bitter piney hoppy, cautious malt basis; notes of paper - maybe a hint of oxidation. Unusual Bock with the feature of a successful matching of malt sweetness and piney hop touch.

750ml bottle. Darkest brown, almost black colour with huge, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, tan head. Fruity aroma with notes of red and dark berries, dry overtones with hints of fruit parings and tobbaco. Taste is dry, roasty, minimally tart, hints of dark berries and their parings, tobacco, the very cautious hints of coffee and treacle are disguised by the dry flavours. Relatively light for its abv, quite dry and almost sourish, doesn’t possess the malt body an Impy Stout requires.

Taste is minimally sweet pale malty, some husk, cautious, minimally floral hoppy overtones; thin, nevertheless slightly sticky palate A Zwickel?

Aroma is sweetish with malty notes, grain, hay, hints of herbs and honey. Also some odd porridge notes. Flavour has malty notes, honey, some metal and grain. Closer to Märzen or Heller bock than kellerbier.

Bottle: Hazy, light amber coloured, bigger stable loose off-white head, piney-hoppy and fruity-malty nose; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, auite light bodied for a beer of 7.0%, but nevertheless pretty soft; lingering fruity-piney finish with a distinctive bitterness in the aftertaste. (swing top bottle) Slightly hazy, golden colour with a big and slightly off-white foamy head. Delicately grainy (cara-)malty aroma with a tinge of hay and spicy hops. Mildly sweet and slightly bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a spritzy carbonation. Had this as Maxbrauerei Zwickl Hell. Bottle looks really good. Beer in the glass zippy, not very turbid. Starts quite malty, modest hoppy background. Some interesting notes of butter cookies. Finish well balanced. Quite drinkable. Nice!
