Bottle at home, from HOTM online, 16/01/25.
Clear golden to light amber with a good sized lasting just off white head.
Nose is pale malts, grains, clove, herb, caramel notes, stewed fruits.
Taste comprises bready malts, light nana, caramel, herb, hedgerow.
Medium to light bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close.
Tidy for an AF Hefe ... better than the last one I had.

330ml panda from LCB. Clear dark gold with small off-white top. Aroma is moderately sweet, biscuit like with some fruity esters - banana and cherry is what I'm picking up. Taste again is malty with biscuit and some caramel notes, banana, light grassy hops. Medium bodied, a little low in the carbonation. A very useful explanation of the style from SilkTork below. I agree with our LCB offering being a bit flat but not about it being flabby. I'm finding the malt complexity decent and there are some Hefeweizen banana esters to this which I find more unusual for the style.

Bottle from LCB, consumed 3 months past BBE. Pours a cloudy amber with some light white froth. Aroma of lemon, wheat, some earthiness. Taste of lemonade, light toasted malts, citrus zests, hint of floral hops. Light bodied, refreshing. Interesting that the beer is a weizen rather than a lager as you can taste the beer element more than some I've had. Its ok.

Bottle from LCB, consumed 5 months in date. Clear gold with small white head. Clean aroma with notes of grain, flora and hint of citrus. Taste has a bready malt with a good and notable hoppy floral and grassy hop (for a Helles), with touch of spice. Medium bodied, medium carbonation. Quite sweet but there is a nice bitterness in the finish to balance. I rather enjoyed this one.

Bottle from LCB as 'Spezial Hell', still 5 months in date. Clear gold with small white head. Aroma has a malty bread crust, light sweetness, hint of straw, caramel and lemon. Taste is a bit of a let down. Quite grainy with a sticky resin-bready-dishwasher noted lemon. Semi-dry, grassy slight astringent bitterness. Medium body, chewy, mid-carbonation. Flabby.

Bottle from House of Trembling Madness. Almost clear gold, big foamy white head. Aroma of mild wheat notes hit first before banana comes in and some spice and hay. Taste of wheat, banana, clove and quite a peppery spice with a moderate sweetness throughout. Near medium bodied, light oily, fine carbonation. More emphasise on spice than banana on this one. I like this. Distinctive yet within the style.
