Draught, Poured orange red with medium head, floral and piney aroma. Full bodied flavour but the rye restrained it, not as hoppy as most American IPAs. Nice Hop finish. Surprised this hasn’t been rated before.

23rd September 2010. Bottle shared with Mes&Sim.
Cloudy amber beer. No real head. Light funky nose. Crisp dry palate. Lightly sour and tart, turns soft in the mouth. Light worcester sauce sourness with a follow through of something sweeter - I guess the grape but I found it elusive. Does have winey aftertaste though! Nice drinkable sour, if only all sours were as drinkable!

09 bottle from Ben, thanks! Shared at the 2010 Metro Detroit tasting. Poured a clear deep red with a thick white head that dissipated quickly to the edges. Aroma was full of tart cherries and had a bit of a dry note. Flavor was a bit weaker with the tart cherries, a bit of funk and a nice dry finish.

Bottle thanks to Pollack. Pours dirty brown with tan head. Nose of funk and cherry. Taste of sour cherry, funk and oak. Tart.

GABF 2010 - I liked this well enough, but didn’t love it like others did - a lot of damp wood - very mellow acidity - the porter character was evident, adding some chocolate and roasty character that works better with the moderate wildness than you would expect - quite a bit of cherry - char, vanilla and moderate bourbon - interesting.

Bottle at Mark’s Sour Tasting on 06/16/2010. 2004 Vintage. Cloudy red body with a small off-white head. Tart cherry and funk aroma. Tart cherry flavor with some funk. Medium body with moderately high carbonation. 8/3/8/3/16

Curtis poured me a sample of this from the keg room at the brewpub. Pours a hazy orange with a frothy white head. Nose is tart, apple skins, lactic acid, citrus fruits, white grapes, a little wood, a little peppery. Flavor is tart, apples, white grapes, spice, pepper, acidic, lemon peel. Full bodied, tart and dry finish.

Sampled on tap at the brewpub. Totally clear, bright gold with a thin, white head. Crisp aroma, wheat, straw, light citrus, a touch of yeast. The flavor was outwardly salty, pale malts, a touch sweet. Medium bodied, salty finish. The saltiness of this gose comes through well.

Again, Curtis offered me a sample of this right from the keg room at the brewpub. Really interesting concept. Apparently an apricot pit has arsenic in it until it’s roasted. I’ve never even heard of someone brewing with such a process but they gave it a shot. They certainly get an A+ for inventiveness. Pours a hazy, bright yellow with a frothy white head. Nose was spicy, yeasty, a little nail polish, juicy fruits. Flavor is loads of fruits, pale malts, grapes. Long finish. Very nice.

Sampled on tap at the brewpub. Pours a hazy, yellow orange with a frothy white head. Nose is hoppy, citrus, malty, wheaty, well balanced. Flavor is the same, good malt backbone, lemon, citrus zest. Full bodied, lightly bitter finish.
