0.5l bottle in bavarian beer set, marktkauf/edeka. pours a hazy amber with a medium white head. aroma of dried banana, cardboard, chewed pencil. flavour of banana, white bread, caramel. fizzy carbonation, almost overcarbonated.

24-01-17 // 500ml shared at home. Pours a cloudy ornage beer with a big white head. Nose is yeasty banana. Taste is yeasty, light fruity banana. Solid Hefe.

As Altweisse Gold. Hazy orange with a rapidly fading white head that’s soon gone. Aroma has prominent cloves, some lemon, banana. Thinnish, high carbonation. Not much sweetness, no welcoming softness. But crackery with lots of cloves (and some pepper) and a quite dry and fairly bitter finish. I wondered whether those prominent spices would become wearing by the end of 500ml, but no.

Leicht trübes dunkel goldenes Bier mit mittelgroßen weißen schaumkrone. Geruch nach reifen Bananen, etwas Nelke. Geschmack nach süßer reifer Banane, etwas Nelke, unspektakulär.

500ml bottle. Slightly cloudy golden colour with slack frothy white head. Slightly muggy, grainy, wheat malty aroma, notes of clove, a phenolic touch. Taste is moderately sweet wheat malty, lots of clove, a touch of honey and baked banana. Oily texture, slightly sticky palate, mercifully the prickling carbonation lends desperately needed facileness. Underwhelming.
