Description
The brewing industry in Grünbach has been documented since the early 18th century with the brewing law of 1723. After an eventful history, Herman Noll took over the brewery under the name of Schloßbrauerei Grünbach. In 1990 son Alexander took over the brewery in the third generation. After the year 2000 Alexander Noll started to look for a partner in order to be able to cope with the challenges of the beer market and also recognize the potential of the brewery in order to be able to continue investing in brand revitalization and expansion together. In 2013 this partner was found in the Arco-Bräu in Moos.

Bottle, 5.3%. Quite cloudy orange colour. The flavour has a little fat banana, surprisingly much real wheat flavour. Thick, slightly slimy mouthfeel. A little teaish hop note is also present.

Bottle: deep golden, slightly hazy, big fluffy head, that slowly collapses; lemons and bananas in the sweet nose; medium bodied, moderate sweet-sourish flavour; lemons dominate the finish, that is rounded by a little bitterness and tartness in the aftertaste. Good, refreshing Weizen........

Thanks to joss for the beer. The bottle looks a little bit complex. Aroma very fruity. Starts fruity and strong, finish is a bit milder, yeasty. Very drinkable and good hefeweizen!

Bottle (many thanks to Jonas !): Orangey coloured, big creamy off-white head; clovey-spicy-phenolic nose; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, mellow MF, light to medium bodied; fresh citrousy undertones in the sweet-sourish finish, a light tartness in the aftertaste. Tastes better than it smells.........

Decent Hefeweizen with Märzen-strength (21.05.08).

Re-rate from bottle. Spicy dry, ginger, clove/allspice, light, a bit fizzy, not much of the rich fruityness I got last time. Metallic spice finish. Old rating: 7 4 8 4 15 Bottle. Almond, banana and clove aroma. Cloudy amber, huge golden cream. Rich malt body, fairly fruity - peach, banana, pears, spices on top, nuts in the finish. Chewy, nice sparkly mouthfeel - really nice winterbeer.

Orange-yellow beer, very well carbonated; medium, very dense, whipped eggwhite head. Cloves, grass, wheat and more fruity esters; wet dog. Mainly fruity flavours, and also a fishy taste.... mackerel with banana and orange mash? Maybe good it isn’t very assertive. Fizzy, overcarbonated, light body and some wheat slickness. I think I know why Benno Sharl is looking that cross, joss. They’ve made a mess of the beers.

Bottle: Hazy, golden coloured, mid-sized white head, that quickly diminishes to a creamy layer; sourish-fruity nose with a touch of vegetables, almost a bit skunky; faint sweetish flavour, very light bodied; traces of citrus fruit and bananas in the short finish. A rather ugly Weizen.........
