Klare goldene Farbe mit weißer Schaumkrone. Malziger, brotiger, würziger Geruch. Geschmacklich unspektakulär malzig, brotig, würzig, etwas getreidig. Mittlere Süße mit mittlerer Bitterkeit, mittlerer Körper mit spürbarer Kohlensäure.

[Munich 2018] Thanks to Jonas! 330 ml. bottle sampled. Clear golden, small white head. Nose is oily vegetable, mineral, dash cabbage. Taste is similar, mineral, cabbage, oily, vegetable. Yet still there is some appeal and it doesn't fully go evil, mineral quality really helps.

Bottle, ZKL #300, many thanks jonas for sourcing this one! Hazy yellow color with very fluffy white head. Aroma is very earthy-grainy, some sulphuric Zwickl flavours, something that could be seen as vegetal (though it's more grainy for me), grassy hopbite as well. Taste is grainy, grassy, herbal, heavily cereal-like, hay, here there is a more pronounced vegetal character, but somehow it doesn't really bother me, nice flowery hop finish. Silky mouthfeel with natural carbonation. Quite quaffable, quite rustic and definitely South-Bavarian in character.

Bottle: Pale golden, hazy to cloudy, big and stable lacy white head; moderate to solid citrussy and herbal nose, bananas and yeast underneath; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, accompanied by a slight acidity, light to medium bodied, quite soft; slightly lingering sourish-citrussy finish. Well crafted Sommer-Weizen...

(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, amber colour with a loose medium-sized off-white foamy head. Fruity and mildly piney hoppy aroma with notes of citrus and lychee. Sweet-bitter flavor, medium to full bodied with a calm carbonation. Mildly bready malty base with hints of residual sugars, caramel and mainly fruity hops, accompanied by piney flavours towards the lasting finish. Likeable. 07.V.18

0.355 l bottle from 'Braukunstladen', brewed at Weyerbacher, bottled in January 2017. Clear, ruby with hardly any foam. Sweetish, malty, slightly fruity aroma of caramel, molasses, prunes, candied cherries and some vanilla. Very sweet, malty, slightly fruity and a bit yeasty-spicy taste of caramel, molasses, prunes, vanilla and candied cherries, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, slightly yeasty-spicy, a little vinous and a bit boozy finish. Full body, oily mouthfeel, very soft carbonation. Interesting stuff, somehow like a cross-over between a Quad, a Doppelbock and a Barley Wine, hardly recognizable as a Weizenbock. Didn't try the version brewed in Germany, but looking at other ratings it seems both versions turned out quite differently.
