Description

Bottle @ Mega Bavarian Beer Tasting in Schlitz. Cloudy, orange brown appearance with an off white head. Toasty malty, toffee, caramelized sugar, light clove aroma. Tangy, orange citrusy, rich banana, toasty caramel malty flavor. Really tastes like a Dunkelweizen to me.

Dirt and banana nose. with subtle clove notes. Clear maroonish brown, thick tan head. Raisins, overripe currants, and plums are detected in precisely that order, with the impression of unripe bananas throughout. Earthy maltiness is there too. A little tart, if you couldn’t have already guessed. Walnut finish. Medium body, not heavy nor viscous at all. Alcohol is pretty well hidden, which leads me to question whether it is even a weizenbock at all, easily mistaken for a dunkelweizen. Very distinct transitions and almost has a Belgian feel. Very good.
