0.33 l bottle from 'Vollkornbäckerei Niemand', best before August 2023. Clear, dark brownish amber with a medium large, frothy, stable, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, slightly bready aroma of caramel, toasted grains and light nuts. Quite sweet, malty, minimally bitter taste of caramel, toasted grains and some nuts, followed by a short, slightly bitter finish. Thin to medium body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Pleasant NA beer, well-brewed.

Bottle at Base Camp. Wow, been a while since I tried anything from these folks I reckon. Clear golden body, white head. Minerally, very minerally aroma, lightly herbal and floral, skunk, strong at first and lightly oxidated maltiness. Minerally taste, mild yolk, soft herbal and soft floral hoppy notes, weird oxidised malty notes bringing it down. Mild bitterness at best, solid carbonation. Some interesting aspects but feels ruined by the green bottle.

Optisch trüb und gelb bis gelborange mit feiner-, mittelgrober und grober Perlage. Die weiße, feinporige Schaumkrone ist dabei sehr flaumig und überaus langlebig. Die Duftaromen zeigen sich süß, spelzig-getreidig und sehr typisch nach Weizenmehl und Biermaische. Der Antrunk kommt sehr frisch, schön spritzig und wässerig-süßlich malzig. Am Gaumen bleiben die Aromen ziemlich dünn, leicht süßlich und spelzig-getreidig malzig. Auch wenn sich der Körper sehr dünn zeigt, ist dieses alkoholfreie Weizen nicht übel. Das Mundgefühl könnte da wesentlich besser und vor allem voller sein. Die Süffigkeit passt hingegen ganz gut. Im Nachtrunk kommt die Aromatik etwas besser auf. Die süßlichen Malznoten halten dabei gut an. Echt nicht übel! Mein Fazit: Alkoholfreie Weizenbiere schmecken ganz anders als "richtige" Weizenbiere, sind aber trotzdem richtig gut und haben eine absolute Daseinsberechtigung. Auch wenn es bessere alkoholfreie Weizen gibt, ist dieses hier voll okay und meines Erachtens etwas underrated.

Bottle shared on the train during the Bamberg Post Christmas Jolly - January 2014. Pours cloudy yellow with a big, fluffy white head. Sugary wheat in here, light bubblegum, clove, citrus, banana. Light bodied with average carbonation. Simple and sweet in the finish, dried wheat, sugary banana, yeast. OK.

Bottle. Cloudy pale orange/yellow sporting a big white head. Aroma of lemons and wort. Taste of wort, lemons, oranges, malts, grains and peaches. Juicy sweetness. Low bitterness. Strong carbonation. I imagine this would work pretty well after a good long run in the summer but not so much in the wintertime when you just pull it out the fridge to make room for the real thing.

Bottle. Clear brown with a decent white/beige head. Aroma of sweet malts. Taste of malts, caramel, wort, hints of lemons and some herbs. Low bitterness. Medium carbonation. This feels like a sticky sweet Malzbier with a bad aftertaste. Meh’s the word.

33cl bottle. A clear golden yellow beer with a white head. Aroma of dry grainy malt, pale malt, some floral hops. Taste of dry floral bitter hops, pale malt and straw.
