It all began with a Christmas gift in 1994. Billy Pyatt, a notoriously hard guy to buy presents for, fell in love with the carboys, pots, hydrometers, grains, hops, chemistry, and physics involved in brewing. His brother, Scott, fell right in with him. Their love became an obsession that could only be resolved by going pro – not an easy thing to do in 1999!
We have tasting Rooms in Asheville, Morganton and Charlotte NC. Our kegs & cans are distributed in TN, NC, SC, GA and AL.

On tap at Catawba, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out soapy, floral, citrus notes upfront, with little presence felt from the ginger. Flavour is odd, with a rather subdued ginger character giving way to a perfumey, floral and soapy character. Not a good marriage of flavours.

On tap at Catawba, pours a hazy bright golden orange with a small white head. Aroma bings out a decent mix of piney hops and papaya, with a crisp bready malt character. Flavour is along the same lines, with a nice balance between piney hops and papaya, finishing with a nice lingering bitterness. Solid stuff.

On tap at Catawba, pours a deep dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out toasted malt, light oats and a hint of cocoa. Flavour is similar, with dry oats and a bitter cocoa powder. Fair robustness for such a low gravity stout. Good stuff.

Pour is dark than usual for the style, almost tan with a small white head. Aroma is some peaches with red berries. Maybe some honey as well. Flavor is again a sweet red berry with some chewy honey malt. No bitterness is felt. This was just ok for the style not a huge fruity hop other than some berries and this way more on the thicker side giving this more of a fruit smoothie feel.
Peachy peachy, crisp and light.

Draft. Milk, lemon, biscuit malt and straw aroma. Golden yellow with moderate white head. Moderately sweet lemon, milky biscuit malt and mildly bitter straw flavor. Good body. Solid cream ale.

Draft at State of Origin. Pours a clearish gold with a finger of foam. Very light peach aroma with grass and faint cracked wheat notes. Lots of carbonation, crisp and clean. Mild lemon notes with crackery malt and grass. Peach is very muted. Not bad.
