Inspired by the European classics and the modern American hop forward beers, Ophiussa Brewing Company was born in February of 2021 with the mission of brewing great beers for everyone. The production site is located in Setúbal and is equipped with a 6 hl brewhouse, 5 and 10 hl unitanks and a small canning line.

Shared bottle at BBT november 2021.Murky orange golden color with white head. Aroma of Mosaic hops. Taste, moderate hops, Mosaic, light malt. Medium long hoppy bitter finish. Very good.

Shared with the boys at BBT 11/2021. Med-thin body, med-high carbonation. High bitterness, with a slightly harsh vegetal edge, but not too sharp. Malt in the background, fully hoppy. Dank Mosaic character is big here, otherwise slightly zesty, grassy. Easy drinking, good one.

Clear pale golden color with medium white head. Aroma: mango, pine, earthy kick. Taste: mango, tangerine, resin, Mosaic recognizable. Mediuk body, moderate carbonation, moderate bitterness. Clean, tasty in style.

Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 16A). Can 44 cl - Batch not declared (canned on 14.02.21 - BBF: 14.02.22). AROMA: medium roasted aroma with dark chocolate notes. medium-low to low sweet background as well as some nuttiness. no hops detected. APPEARANCE: very dark brown body with ruby highlights. opaque. medium-low light brown head, creamy, with no retention. TASTE: initial medium roasted/sweet flavor with a chocolate impression and cream. slight fruitiness. medium bitterness with an almost dry and roasty finish. balanced. MOUTHFEEL: medium body with medium-low carbonation. OVERALL: a nice starting point for a sweet stout that needs to improve head retention and body.

APPEARANCE: light straw color and hazy. low white head with low retention. TASTE: initial medium hop flavour with green-citrus notes (lime). very low neutral malt in the background. medium-high bitterness with a dry finish and yeasty. MOUTHFEEL: light body with medium carbonation. OVERALL: after 3 ratings, its still NOT a Saison. Feels like a session apa.

AROMA: medium-high hop aroma with notes of fresh-green mango, slight apricot and ripe melon. medium malt background, neutral and slightly sweet. slightly alcohol note. APPEARANCE: gold color and clear. low white head with medium to low retention. TASTE: medium to medium-high hop flavour with notes of pine, fresh-green mango, grapefruit, slight peach. background of medium malt, neutral and slightly sweet. medium-high bitterness with a dry and bitter finish that endures. MOUTHFEEL: medium-light body with medium carbonation. OVERALL: a good american IPA well within the style.
