Can. Just a light haze on this deep amber - brown beer, nice tidy pale tan head. Smooth palate, mildly dry, good fine minerally carbonation on the back end. Smooth malts, a decent creamy sweetness. Abundant salted caramel. A little fruity caramel before a light and semi dry finish. A decent pastry barleywine. It's not about a mature layered barleywine with salted caramel though. It's a strong salted caramel beer that best fits in the barleywine category and, that's its main flaw for me.

Il faut toujours se méfier des promesses. Le visuel est pourtant parlant....on nous promet de la cerise en plus du cacao. Et si les fèves de cacao jouent bien leur rôle....les cerises sonnent presque aux abonnés absents. Celles-ci sont très subtiles et sont décelées en fait en toute fin de bouche. Si on retire de l'équation nos cerise, cet Imperial Stout est tout à fait honnête avec des arômes francs bien que sans réelles variations. Le visuel est sur un noir total avec une faible effervescence et quasi pas de mousse. AU nez, la cerise est complètement absente. C'est le cacao qui domine largement avec des cotes de caramel et de café. C'est brut mais appréciable. En bouche, c'est franc sur le cacao avec une bonne intensité sans que celle-ci soit extraordinaire. De légères épices apparaissent. L'équilibre est plutôt bon avec un alcool à 11 % bien. Le sucre est toutefois légèrement surdosé à mon goût. La corpulence est honnête et la longueur plutôt bonne. C'est d'ailleurs en toute fin de dégustation que les notes de cerise apparaissent. Insuffisantes toutefois. Dommage.

TCBW2024. Deep copper colour, close to black, with a small off-white foamy head. Aroma is plum, some sweet malts, mild toasted tones with some vanilla and mild bourbon tones to it. Flavour is plum, ripe fruits, some sweet malts, toasted tones with mild bourbon, alcohol and some toffeeish tones along with a bit of wooden tones. Alcohol is actually not that disturbing.
