Description
Baron Brewing is a playground for beer, where no two batches are the same. Made for the fun and love of the process – the next beer will be the best beer.

The brewery is based on a farm in Great Hormead, East Hertfordshire. The focus is to brew modern styles, particularly highly hopped ales and fresh lagers.

The 1000L brewhouse allows for an ever-changing range of beers to be brewed. Each style will be pushed to its limits, with the evolution and development of new flavours.

500ml can from The House of Trembling Madness. A murky golden/orange/yellow coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Hoppy, citrus, orange, lime, grapefruit, pine, mango, tropical fruit taste and aroma. Full on flavour in this dank, juicy DIPA from Baron, great aroma. Another quality brew from Baron.

Can from The Beerhive. Murky golden body with an off-white head that slowly fades. No visible carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of mango, passionfruit and vine tomatoes. Flavour of mango pulp and lime with a hint of hop burn. Medium body with a smooth mouthfeel. Soft fizz. This is a heavily hopped DIPA; the aroma really jumps out of the glass.

Can from The Beerhive. Hazy amber body with a beige head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of toffee and pine. Flavour of caramel and toffee apple with a bitter, hoppy finish. Medium body with a chewy mouthfeel. Soft fizz. A rich, bittersweet red IPA. Possibly a touch too sweet.

Dark brown, thick tan head. Malty, coffee aroma. Flsvour follows suit. Coffee with sweet toasty malt, perhaps a hint of aniseed. Simple but eith a nice body, distinct flavours, nice balance and a lingering coffee finish. Very drinkable.

Can. Sick note rate. A light haze on this gold beer, small bubbly pale cream colour head. Light palate, mildly dry, good fine minerally carbonation. Light pale malts, a very nice light creamy sweetness. The hops bring a crisp pine. Lovely light bright hop fruits, orange, lime, mild grape and a whisper of candy fruits. Light crisp finish. Lovely bright clean pale ale.

On tap at Kill the Cat, Spitalfields Market, London. A straw coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Hoppy, citrus, orange, grapefruit, pine taste/aroma. Really enjoyable and not bitter at all for a west coast DIPA. Good and very expensive stuff from Baron.

Panda thanks to Cloin. Almost clear gold beer, decent bubbly pale cream colour head. Big bubbles! Light smooth. Light malts, thinnish. Light pine. Modest citrus, some peel. Light finish. Comes over as a wishy washy apa more than a lager. Light and semi dry finish. Okay. Very hard to get excited about.

Sample courtesy of Cheeseboard, cheers Simon! Amber brown colour with reddish tinge, some bubbles on top and aroma of malt, hops, ripe fruits, fruit cake, roasty hint. Taste is sweet, malty, caramel, toffee, fruity, marmalade, orange citrus, pine, with mellow hop bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying earthy bitter finish. Nicely drinkable.
