Description
Baron Brewing is a playground for beer, where no two batches are the same. Made for the fun and love of the process – the next beer will be the best beer.

The brewery is based on a farm in Great Hormead, East Hertfordshire. The focus is to brew modern styles, particularly highly hopped ales and fresh lagers.

The 1000L brewhouse allows for an ever-changing range of beers to be brewed. Each style will be pushed to its limits, with the evolution and development of new flavours.

Can from The Beerhive. Hazy pale golden body with a white head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of green mango and grapefruit. Flavour of pineapple, coconut and lemon. Medium body with a smooth texture. Soft fizz. Nice and fruity with a bright coconut vibe.

Can from Beerfly, Bedford. Pours deep brown with a beige foam. Aroma: light burnt malts, caramel, leaves, pine. Taste: light to moderate sweet & bitter, dry, fruity, some roast, light coffee, grassy. Medium body with soft carbonation.

500ml can. Almost black with a tan head. Aroma of cocoa, very rich, almost like a chocolate liqueur. Taste is very rich, plenty of cocoa, dark chocolatey bitterness, slight coffee-like notes, bitter boozy finish. Medium-full bodied.

Keg at The Bear, Paddington, London. A golden/straw coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Hoppy, malty, caramel, tropical fruit taste and aroma. Easy drinking IPA from Baron.

Can from Beerfly, Bedford. Pours clear pale gold with a white foam. Aroma: pale malts, grains, bread crusts, honey. Taste: light sweet & light to moderate bitter. Light body with soft carbonation. Very flavoursome considering the ABV.

On tap at Craft Beer Co - Covent Garden, pours a clear pale golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out gentle piney hops and crisp biscuity malt. Flavour is fairly crisp, with crisp piney hops, biscuity malt and a hint of tanginess. Light, tangy and piney. Pleasant.

Can from Beerfly, Bedford. Pours hazed milky pale gold with a white foam. Aroma: stone fruits, pineapple, floral. Taste: light to moderate sweet & light bitter. Light to medium body with fine carbonation. Decent light pale. Quite Talus heavy.

Can at home, from HOTM online, 31/10/23. Hazed orange golden orange with a just off white cap that thins to a swirl. Nose is juicy tropical fruits, mandarin, guava, papaya, light pine needle, orange zest. Taste comprises ripe tropical fruits, touch of Um Bongo, soft malts, pine resin, stoned fruits, mandarin, grapefruit, dank kiss, Nelson like pissoi, kiwi fruit. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spliced with juicy come resinous hop bitterness. Solid easy drinking DIPA.
