Description
Brass Castle commenced brewing in a garage as a commercial home brewer in August 2011 initially in Pocklington, East Yorkshire. In December 2013 they relocated to Malton, North Yorkshire and expanded to a 10BBL plant. Over time, new tanks arrived and a Taphouse was established next door. Success, friends, family and the odd bank loan have got us where we are now.

The brewery has always pushed itself to brew interesting beers, under the very deliberate constraint of doing so without the use of animal products. In turn, this caused Brass Castle to develop a house yeast strain and specialised processes that could guarantee the final product. From December 2017, every beer brewed at Brass Castle has been based on a gluten-free beer recipes โ€“ on the basis that beer should be made available to as many people as possible. Most recently, the brewery invested in canning line and carbonation tanks, to spread the beers further than they have gone before.

Was sure I'd had this before. Seems I didn't check in. Decent.

Keg at The Sheffield Tap, Sheffield, Yorkshire. A hazy golden/orange coloured pour with a medium off white head on top. Sweet, hoppy, tropical fruit, pine aroma and taste. Pleasant enough IPA but very sweet indeed.

440ml can @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, August 22. Final beer of the night and I think we'd all had enough by this point. Pours black, good tanned topping. Aroma of chocolate, mild vanilla. Indeed, vanilla seems quite low in the mix overall, semi-sweet malt with a nice drinkability. Not bad.

lattina 440 ml, bel cappello di schiuma bianca fine persistente, colore oro velato, al naso cereali mandarino agrumi note floreali, in bocca pompelmo marshmallow frutta tropicale minerale e salatina, corpo leggero, watery, carbonazione forte, dolce con amaro moderato, asciutta nel finale. Dissetante e molto saporita. Alghe, senza glutine?! Ottima. c. Cantina della birra 19.08.22

Can from House Of Trembling Madness. Hazy amber body with a thick off-white head. Lively carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of sea salt and copper. Flavour of seaweed and cigarette butt. Medium body with a slick texture. Soft fizz. An interesting concept but I donโ€™t think it worked; itโ€™s very savoury and salty.
