Can to tulip. Thanks Russ.
Appearance: a ruddy bronze color with a two finger white foamy head, delicate dissipation which left mild lacing
Aroma: tobacco leaf, orange marmalade, citrusy character, sweet grass, lemon puree', tangerine then tries to balance with some caramel malt
Flavor: previously noted aromas wrap up bittersweet, mild citrusy aftertaste with caramel malts
Texture: medium bodied, good as a sipper, clean citrusy/malty finish
Overall: good DIPA, I'd come back to if given the chance.

OKC has a number of really fine breweries. Roughtail is one. I have a 12 oz can of City IPA from Mr. T's locally to try out, there is a snifter in place. And I have a large recommendation to make, handle the can very gently before opening. The view is a mostly transparent, gold liquid with a slender white skim. I smell hops primarily and some citrus. The taste gathers much more attention. Grapefruit, white bread, lemon cough drops, malt, a bit of sweetness and a decent resin background. There's a nice depth for a straight- up west coast style IPA. Dry and tasty, not bad.

I obtained this severely out of date 16 oz can at an OKC liquor store, should have checked the stamp before I left the premises. The test glass will be one of my tulip glasses, this one from a Ft. Worth brewery. Dark orange-gold in color with a moderate cover of icy white foam. The scent begins with tropical notes but there is a definite hops presence and some woodiness. The taste is undoubtedly NE style oriented but there's some nice traditional notes to offset. I get honeydew, cedar, a touch of pineapple, cantaloupe, malt, cane syrup, some dankness and mowed grass. Quite the substantial sensation. A small bitterness at the end. It all adds up to something rather decent from a brewery I appreciate.

Half pint at Grrrowlers. Clear, rich, orange gold, active pour. Grassy, unripe strawberry nose, lemon rind punch. More mellow, bittersweet green strawberry than lemon over a yeasty base. Slight acid but not enough gusto to really be lemonade. Refreshing but far too incomplete.

Super hazy, dark straw and honey coloured body with a very thick, five to six centimetre tall tan and off-white head that gets pretty large-bubbled, but looks better than what was I was expecting. Aroma of light oranges, some pungent bitterness from the alpha acids of the hops and a good, slightly biscuity scent from the malts. Medium-bodied; Rcih caramely and pitted fruits show at first with a ton of malt and relatively rich grainy notes, but an orangey, mango finish from the fruits that don't seem to give way from the deep character. Aftertaste is very crisp, quite citrusey with a great pungency and strong metallic bitterness, but the complete package is very nice here, too. The hops bitterness shines through, as does the citrusey and grassy finish of the alpha acids here. Overall, a decent enough, quite bitter, pungent and strong beer with a great bitterness from the alpha acids of the hops, but balanced nicely with the malt here and showing a good complexity at the end. Good to sample and even better that it was super fresh - get this from Oklahoma City if you can! I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from Trader Joe's in Oklahoma City (Nichols Hills), Oklahoma on 09-January-2023 for US$2,17 sampled at my house here in Washington on 08-February-2023.
