About
Oud Beersel is a traditional lambic brewery whose wort is produced at Boon. Oud Beersel produces a traditional oude geuze, oude kriek, and framboise, in addition to releasing their lambiek in 10 liter boxes. Oud Beersel also releases a tripel called Bersalis and a Belgian-style pale ale called Kadet.

Bottled
Colour is red, the dissipating head is pink. Tart rapberry aroma with some sawdust and sweet toffee in the background. Somewhat thin mouthfeel. Tart raspberry flavour with some artificial sweetness.

Fles 37,5cl thuis. Wat zurig, cassis. Goed te drinken. Geur licht chemisch. (6-2011). Fris zuur, licht funky, wat wrang en droog, lekkere lange nadronk, smaak van kersen blijft lang in de mond. (14-9-2018).

Bottle. Clear red/pink with a large pink head. Aroma and taste of mainly raspberries. Not that sweet and sour. Very refreshing and easy to drink. A descent beer.

Draught at the Oude Beersel. Naked surface to a golden-orange body. Sweet and mid-sour fruits to the nose. Dry tartness of citric fruits in flavour with a note of yeast. Easy to drink (third stop during the 8th edition of Toer de Geuze 01.05.2011).

Dark red colour, pink head. Rather sour cherry (krieken) aroma, some vinegar. Flavour is tart but lacking real depth imho. Slight oak, slight cherry notes, slight cherry stones. Some sour apple. Vinegar notes. Slight cherry sweetness in the finish. Bit on the thin side. Not bad though. (From 37,5cL bottle @ Toone, Brussels)

(Bottle, Akkurat, Stockholm, 27 May 2011) Dark red colour with brief, pink head. Fruity, slightly tart nose with notes of raspberries, red fruit and a mild acidity. Fruity taste with raspberries, red fruit and a dry sourness in the finish. Medium body, dry. A bit one dimensional with raspberries all over the place. Not as harsh and sour as some of the other traditional lambic brewers, but highly drinkable and very tasty,

No head. Hazy yellow body. Waxy earthy funky aroma. Dry waxy oily taste with lemony apple notes. Mid-bodied. Mild soft mouthfeel. Dry, somewhat acidic, waxy earthy mouthfeel with apple notes. Rather mild and smooth. (Taster at brewery.)

Hazy orange with a great white head. Aromas of hay and cereal grain. Sweet malt and hoppy finish. Satisfying, if not remarkable.
