Can at home in Hackney - picked up from Nealโs Yard. Pours clear honey-gold with a fading, foamy white head. Lightly effervescent. Light-medium sweet flavour with notes of lightly ripened apples, bitter skins, mellow funk, a little acidity, light citric tang. Light to medium bodied with spritzy carbonation. Somewhat drying finish, semi-ripe apples, further bitter skin. Great stuff overall, classy.

750ml bottle from Aeble. Opened with a pop. Hazy golden colour, foamy white head that dissipates to a thin rim and aroma of apple, fruit, fleshy, juicy, hint of funk. Taste is tart, tangy, apple, fruity, flesh, with orange juice notes, light funk and drying bittersweet tannins. Medium bodied, spritzy carbonation, dry tart tangy tannic finish. Nicely drinkable.

750ml bottle from Fine Cider Co. Opened with a pop. Hazy yellow gold colour, short-lived fizzy white foam head and aroma of fruity apple, juicy orange, funk hint. Taste is tart, tangy, apple, fleshy, orange juice note, with some woody funk and bittersweet tannins. Medium bodied, spritzy carbonation, dry tangy tannic finish. Nicely drinkable.

Sample courtesy of Grumbo, cheers Graham! Amber golden-brown colour, thin bubbly rim and aroma of apple, fruity, orchardy, leather. Taste is sweetish, tangy, tart, apple, fruity, fleshy, with leathery funk, caramel hint and some drying bittersweet tannins. Medium bodied, low carbonation, dry tannic finish. Nicely drinkable.

31/1/2024. From BIAB at the 15th Colchester Winter Ale Festival. Pours clear dark copper/amber with a small bubbly off-white head. Aroma is fruity, apple, caramel, baked apple, brown sugar, funky notes. Medium sweetness, light bitterness, touch tart. Medium body, average carbonation. Drying finish. Very nice.

75cl bottle from That Beer Place, opened during a kayaking evening with Soph. Hazed golden yellow appearance, encouraging effervescence. Aroma of wild orchard funk. Good natural fruit to taste with soft citrussy shades, gentle acidity. Really nice.
