Clear amber beer, good bubbly pale tan head. Airy smooth palate, a little soft. Reasonable fine carbonation, suits the style. Soft caramel malts, a little cream. Dried fruits, ripe fruits. Soft oak and a touch of vanilla. A little of the promised spice on the end. Nice job. Layered and drinkable, slightly sweet but not overly so. Comes together into a pretty quaffable barleywine.

Tap at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Most likely the 2024 vintage. Pours elegant dark red, with beautiful reflections. Limited fine foam. Aroma is intense malty, caramel, a little licorice. Body is fairly sticky, only partially dense, with moderate carbonation. Taste is medium-high sweet. Final is still pretty full and long, sweet.

Perfect after a windy and rainy walk, yesterday, along the lake. Too sweet and a bit disgusting at the beginning after some sips you get a subtle nectar in the mouth, yeasty, fruity, raisin, apricot, smooth, malty, almost no carbonation, not usual. 17.11.2023

75cl bottle from AbeerVinum, Rimini, Italy. A gift by Carlos, thanks!! Pours loaded gold, transparent, with fine white foam. Aroma is fairly intense, of liquor and fruity. Body is partially dense, sticky, with average carbonation. Taste is markedly sweet. Final is long, sticky and liquorish.

Bottle from Eltham Wines. Nose is vanilla, Cognac, honey, toffee apple, nuts. Taste is much the same with a splash of flat cola & demerara sugar rounding things off nicely. Uber warming, uber sweet & exceedingly flavoursome.
