On tap at Grove Inn, Ashton New Road - nowt wrong with this one, yellow body, lots of fizzy white head. Nose is grainy, but holds together with a balanced sweetness. Refreshing and that’s it.

Bottle from Asda, Warrington. Very dark with a tiny red glow and next to no head. It has a smooth texture with plenty of sweet winter fruits but some roasted malts are evident too, although not dominant.

Gravity cask at the Wandsworth Common Halloween Beer Festival - Le Gothique, London. Pours clear brown with alight, beige foam head. The nose holds well toasted bread, light chocolate and dark fruits. Mellow sweetness in the flavor with dark berries, wet leaves and mild dry chocolate. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Simple finish, more leaves, dried and semi-dark fruits. OK.

Cask at Haymarket. Pale gold with a thick white head. Caramel and hay aromas. Light sweet taste. Not a lot going on. A bit thin. OK.

Cask @ Crosse Keys, London. Clear amber with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, fruity and light hoppy - grass. Flavor is medium sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and moderate bitter finish. 041013

Hand-pulled pint in my local Wetherspoons on 9th Oct 2013. Clean amber hue to the body, a full white crown on top, lacing clung to the glass as the beer level fell. Malty nose and taste, with enough hop content to stop it becoming a sweet tasting brew rather than a malty tasting one. Didn’t pick up an ’maple’ taste or smell, caramel maybe, semi-sweet malty molasses, yes. Good body depth, even though it is weaker than the bottled version: easy to drink and my sort of brew.

Cask @ Crosse Keys. Clear amber with small white head. Aroma is malt, fruit, caramel, hop and a little toasted. Flavour is malt, fruit, caramel, little toasted, medium sweet, hop, little candy and a little bitter.

Cask @ Crosse Keys. Nice head with goog duration. Color is golden. Aroma and taste are malt, notes of caramel, hops, fruits and flowers. Nice and smooth.
