Description
Mogwaï Beer Company is a new independent brewery resulting from the craft movement which was born in March 2022 in Mundolsheim, in the Strasbourg region.

The first brews were made throughout May 2022, while the first beers were put on the market in June 2022 with aluminum cans in 44cl format, as well as kegs.

To begin with, our objective is to produce only ephemeral brews in order to give free rein to our desires to experiment, both in the field of contemporary beers (Sour aux Fruits, NEIPA, etc.), barred beers (Pizza ) or more traditional (Pale Ale, BItter, etc…).

A small permanent range of 3-4 beers will be put in place when our spinal bulbs need a little more rest...

Canned 440ml. -from BeerLovers Shop Liege, shared with Hrabren & Marko. Ugly undefiend grey/brownish coloured, medium sized airy head, banana and pineapple puree in the nose. Sweet and artificial banana and pineapple taste with some odd spicy sweet finish. Not so thick but still awful.

Clear golden orange with a fuzzy head. But pepper notes from start to finish. You definitely get the heat but it is folded in with citrus and a touch of malt. I’m not a hot pepper beer fan but this is solid.

0.44 l can thanks to Ogi who brought it from France, shared with Marko and him. Hazy dark pink, small pinkish head. Aroma is anise seed, basil, pink grapefruit and berries. Flavour is moderately spicy, anise, chives, vegetables. Mineral, salty celery. Light body, moderate sourness, moderate saltiness, light dry finish. Quite refreshing.

Can, huge thanks Ogi for bringing it from France! Shared with Hrabren too. Murky purplish red body, off-white pinkish head. Huge tomato umami vibes in the aroma... and yet... ceci n'est pas une tomate! Minty anise is there by all means and so is lime. How they achieved this backgorund with the other fruits and flowers... I'm not sure but hats off. Lean, dry, tart taste, bit of anise and lime tartness... slightly meaty... what did they do?! Add stock? I don't know but it's less fun in the taste... though fun. Glad I tried it, wouldn't repeat it.

Can, thx Ogi for sharing with Hrabren and me. Or thanks? Yeah no, I'm not adding this as a bloody stout. Grey-brown body, grey-tan head, Hrabren getting a dark brown layer between the head and the body. Banana aroma, bit yeasty... okay. Bit watery body, some roasty, nutty touches, banana and coconut, low pineapple... flat... Huh... this is just mediocre.

0.44 l can thanks to Ogi who brought it from France, shared with Marko and him. Hazy off-white with some kind of oil floating between the body and head and with large off-white Eurocrem colour head. Aroma is banana, coconut, vanilla, hint of chocolate and nutty spread. Flavour is rip banana, coconut, pineapple, cocoa, some yoghurty tartness, even some astringency. Medium body. Sweet finish.

On tap at Hopi Lille. Brownish coloured, medium sized off-white head, caramel and light banana in the nose. Sweet malty, fruity, estery, light alcohol and some banana with sweetish spicy finish. Bit sweet but ok one.

Black with a frothy, off-white head of modest duration. Has an incredibly odd and unpleasant aroma that I‘ve never experienced in a beer before. A bit of research turned up the information that beets are in the mix. Uggh. Sorry, not my thing. The whole mess smells like pickled beets. The chili on the other hand, was easy to pick out from the first sip. It adds a pleasant kick to the moderately bitter finish. But there’s no saving it from that aroma.
