Cask at the Wellington, Brum. Pours gold with a small head. Aroma is mango and papaya. Taste has light papaya to start and a strong bitter papaya finish.

Cask at the Devonshire Cat, Sheffield. When in Sheffield... drink one of the bestsellers. Mid-gold, clear with a big white head. Cereal, lemon, hay and slight astringency in the aroma. Clean bittersweet taste, a hint of soap. More bitterness in the citrusy finish. A good beer.

Cask at Devonshire Cat, Sheffield. Light to mid-gold with a billowy white head. Lots of natural carbonation. Cereal, lemon, hay and a bit of astringency on the nose. Taste is dominated by a malty sweetness but there’s a nice gentle lemony bitter as well. More like a good Dortmunder than a classic English golden. A decent drop.

Cask pint in Ye Olde Fighting Cocks, Oakengates Shropshire on 2nd Jan 2016. Poured a clean and clear light gold with a full, deep white head. Too many citrus notes in the aroma for me, some maltiness too, but too little too late: taste the same. Scored objectively, but I am fed up with golden citrus beers!

Cask half-pint in The Station, Oakengates Shropshire on 2nd Jan 2016. Another golden citrus flavoured beer, why do I keep trying them? Decent enough if you like grapefruit and lemon tastes in your beer I suppose but not for me: scored objectively.

Cask (handpump) @ GBBF 2015, Great British Beer Festival, London Olympia, Hammersmith Road, London, England W14 8UX. [ As Abbeydale Belfry ].Clear medium yellow color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, light to moderate hoppy, citrus. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, pale malt, citrus. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20150812]
