Cask. Gravity dispense. 41st Steel City Beer Festival. This is the base beer around which the Seven Deadly Sins series of beers pertains to. Dark bronze. Light haze. Minimal head. Nose has thick, syrupy, grainy malts. Some dried fruit. Touch of booze. Taste follows on with a thick, syrup sweetness. Chewy palate. Finishes with some fruity dryness, but I’m already swamped in the syrup. Not for me.

Cask. Gravity dispense. 41st Steel City Beer Festival. Clear, amber colour. Off white, bubbly head. Nose has chocolate. Bready malts. Get the vanilla. Bit of booze. Taste is fruity, woody bitter. Bit of yeasty tartness. Thinnish mouthfeel. Finishes short, fruity, tart bitter. Underwhelming.

Cask. Handpump. 41st Steel City Beer Festival. Clear, chestnut brown. Bubbly, tan head. Nose has coffee grinds. Vanilla. Cocoa. Woody, vine fruits. Taste is vinous, fruity bitter. Some sweetness on the lips. Medium body. Finishes vinous and fruity bitter. Expected more depth and sweetness, but nevertheless this is a tasty, drinkable beer.

Cask at the Jolly Crispin. Poured a clear dark brown with a frothy light tan head. The aroma is grassy hop, light oatmeal malt. The flavour is moderate bitter with a rich grassy hop, malt, light smoke palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Draft at Jolly Crispin. Very dark maroon color, big beige ice cream cone head, the first time I’ve seen that in England. Aroma of pine and burnt espresso. Taste has bitter pine resin and coffee. Delicious.

Cask. Devonshire Cat, Sheffield. Clear, pale gold. Tight, lasting, white head. Some citrus, and some green hop. Soapy malts. Some flora. Taste is light sweet, and light, soapy bitter. Standard stuff.
