33cl bottle from Bierzwerg. Poured hazy pale golden with a thin white head. Aroma has mostly yeast, like poorly made home-wine. Light hoppy notes perhaps. Flavor has light citrus and hops, mostly yeast. Bad luck with this one.

First had this beer in De Bierboom, one of my favourite bars in Brugge. The correct glass is a wonderful horn shape and comes in a wooden holder, very impressive. This 33cl bottle however was poured into a Duvel glass in May 2011. A small amount of sediment left the bottle, so my pale golden beer had a very slight haze to it, on top a pure white foaming head sat majestically. Citrus aroma, the sour type, lemons and grapefruits. The taste is also dominated by those aforementioned citrus fruits, giving the beer a tart, refreshing, tangy feel and flavour. The beer had a best before date of 8-2013 and was in good condition, being well carbonated and spritzy, the head producing some heavy lacing as the beer level sank down the glass. A little too sour and citrusy for my tatses, but it is a pleasant enough beer and I remember enjoying it more out of it’s own horn than I did during this review.

Bottle from Au Grain d’Orge, Crissier, Switzerland
Cloudy blond color, with big fluffy head. Nice aroma, spicy, and with some hops. Good body strength, spicy malt flavor, with moderate residual sweetness, and a light fruity touch; the final presents both a respectable biterness and some alcohol punch. Good.
