Huge, whipped eggwhite-like head over cold hazed golden beer. Already upon opening a sharp nose as from brandy. Bitter, gall-like, alcohol with its raw aspect, almost no sweetness. No finesse whatsoever. Further a flavour as from oakwood, pressed to get all the resins and volatiles open. Alcoholheat. Medium bodied, not overly carbonated. This is as drinking raw alcohol. Instead of trying to emulate bubbly white French wine, maybe brew beer first?

Bottle 25cl. from Gastro Beer webshop @home poured into a tasting glass. Clear deep golden colour, small frothy white to off-white head, half-way lasting, light lacing. Aroma pale malt, white grapes, champagne yeast, nectarine, orange peel, floral hops. Fruity taste, above medium sweet and light bitter, malty, white grapes, champagne yeast, vinous impression. Medium body, oily texture, sparkling mouthfeel, average carbonation, semi-dry sweetbitter aftertaste, rather subtle beer, nice.

opalescent golden colour colour, medium sized creamy ecru-ish white head; aroma of dried apricot, grainy, spicy alcoholic, some grape, yeast, maybe apple and soy sauce, as well as caramel; taste has the same notes as can be felt in the aroma with definite hoppy and cognac notes; not bad at all

0.75l bottle thanks to Lore. Hazy golden body with a white head. Lots of dried apricot in the aroma with burned sugar, cognac and nutmeg. Taste of apricot, apples, sugar syrup, cognac, wood and nutmeg. The cognac notes are a bit subtle, but it's still gives a nice addition to the beer. I'm not sure if this counts as a brut beer as it feels quite sweet. Anyways it's very nice.

Huge, dense, flamingo-pink head over deep, veiled Bordeaux beer. Red/pink fruit, berries, some fresh green leaves, rather sweet aroma. Light fruity sourishness, natural & convincing. Light malty underbuild. Raspberry, other red/pink/orange fruit & berries. Ever so slightly wry finish. Highly carbonated, Champenoise. Slick, but only medium bodied. Aftertaste has some hints at fruitsyrup, as only negative mark.Surprise, surprise - really. The very first Dame Jeanne beer I can really dig. In fact, I find this very good!

New (2020) product from this Antwerp “champagne beer” specialist: the fruited ‘Rozat’ version (with added cherry) but bottle-conditioned, with the champagne yeast still present in the bottle, as is the case with the regular, non-fruited Brut Sur Lie. From a 75 cl luxury bottle with cork and muselet; opens with a bang and a lot of ‘gunsmoke’. Towering high, bath foam-like, crackling, plastery lacing, very pillowy, pale pink-white head on a misty ruby red beer with vermillion glow ad nicely vivid sparkling everywhere. Aroma of cherry jam and some candied cherries, Sekt, dried white bread, spring blossoms, rosé wine, dust, a bit of ‘petrichor’ and gypsum, freshly cut red apples, hibiscus, cold rosehip tea, dry hay, dried plum kernels or indeed cherry pits. Sweet onset but not sticky and overly sugary, candied cherry and cherry jam flavour dominating with side notes of red apple and a touch of strawberry, vivid but very ‘refined’ sparkling (as is the intention with this kind of beers), light sourish undertone; ongoing cherry juiciness and fruity, well-measured sweetness over a supple dry-bready base, lean and gracious, encountering mild hop and champagne yeast bitterness in the finish, the latter indeed adding that typical ‘brut’ flavour, while aspects of hay, dried hibiscus flower and rosehip linger. Somehow this beer, intended as a sweet and fruity “aperitif”, manages to offer a lot of cherry sweetness and at the same time keep that sweetness firmly in place , so that it does not become annoyingly cloying anywhere (something I admit I did fear a bit before opening this bottle). The beery equivalent of rosé champagne in a way, feels like a traditional Belgian cherry beer blended with champagne, but impressively balanced. Elegant and enjoyable, though I still prefer the non-fruited beers in this range.
