Hazy deep amber beer, small pale tan head. Smooth palate, airy and mildly dry, decent fine carbonation. Smooth malts, a light creamy sweetness. Nice smooth blend of fruity bourbon ba and a little mellow cognac. Trace of wet wood. Pine and ripe citric peel bitterness remind you the core beer is a dipa. Light finish leaves a mild bourbon bitter linger. Would have been nice to have more hops here but it's a very well done ba blend.

17 August 2019. At Gents Bierfestival X. Cheers to Anke, Kevin & the crew! Hazy dark orange-amber, lasting, thick, frothy, off-white head. Aroma of triple sec, orange peel, ripe peach, plum, mango, dried apricot, apple, dark honey. Taste is medium fruity sweet, offering ripe peach, plum & orange with a candied edge over thick honey-like & bready maltiness; spicy & herbal touch, a bit woody, nutty perhaps, leading to a dry, floral hoppy finish where wood, ripe fruit & honey remain in balance, as well as a warming dash of sweet whisky or bourbon alcohol. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Unconvential as a DIPA I must say, perhaps it's more of a decently hopped Barley Wine?

Sampled between ratebeer and brewver, hence no specific tasting notes. This is a really old school IPA? full on bitterness, malty, tad fruity by the hops, but not as refined as most examples. This has still got that 'homebrew' rawness that actually works quite well in this specific beer.

Sampled between ratebeer and brewver, so dont have extensive tasting notes. This beer was hard to drink. The cedar wood really delivers an aroma of... Pencil shavings . Very intensely so, which makes it a beer I couldn't finish a glass of.

Tap at beerlovers bar. Pours black, small tanned head. Smell is sharp, tad hoppy, mostly roasty. Bit funky. Taste is sharp, tad sour. Not problematic, and it actually does work a bit, but I'm not sure this was intended. Recognizable barrel features. Decent, but not what I seek out in a black IPA.

Bottle. Deep dark brown color. Malt, licorice and a hint of ash in the aroma. Roast, ash, licorice and citrus in the slightly tart hopbitter flavor. The licorice dominates. Some grassy hopbitterness in the aftertaste.

Bottle. Deep dark brown color. Salted licorice and grassy notes in the aroma. Malty sweetish. Citric grassy roasty flavor with salted licorice. Maybe a hint of oak in the finish, but that is hard to notice because of the dominant other flavors.
