Bottle Pours a black with a modest dark tan head that settles into thick sticky lacing. Aroma is stron Molassas, nutty, coffee and bittersweet chocolate. Bittersmokey molassas is at the front, with a charcoal aftertaste that is quite bitter. Less sweet than most of its type. Feel is moderatley thick and very smooth. Nice but the harsh bitter trailer puts me off a bit.

Bottle Pours an unfiltered light brown with little head and just a trace of lacing. Agree with earlier reviews, hoppy aroma and taste are matched by and with, the bitter rind and pith of grapefruit. Fairly complex medley of flavors. Hops are pretty strong but balanced. Malty as well. Low carbonation here too. The finish is cleaner and quicker than other IPAs I've had. Interesting.

On draught at Winking Lizard. Pours a lustrous orange/amber color with a medium ivory head and nice lacing. The aroma is floral hops with some citrus. Medium-bodied with floral hops, tropical fruit and malt. The finish is dry with a bitter and lingering hops flavor. Overall there are very few shortcomings with this IPA.

I usually reserve the term"kilt lifter" for the slighly bigger Scotch Ale or Wee Heavy, but this is a good representative of the lighter Scottish Ale style. Malty, slightly sweet with a good solid mouthfeel and body ending in a beautiful finish. A nice brew.

2001-2002 Bottle: Nearly back with a medium and slightly foamy dark beige head. Thin lacing. Aroma of roasted coffee and a hint of malt. A little richer than most Dry Stouts, I like what they are going for with a blend of Dry and Imperial Stout in the body. Coffee flavor really comes through in the flavor, along with some dark chocolate and roasted malt. The finish is dry and has a lightly hopped character. This might not be worth all the X's but it is still a good Stout.

Draft: Gorgeous sparkling amber color. Alcohol nose. Malt alcohol taste. Rough around the edges, needs to mellow.
