Description
Two brewers, Jean-Yves Nauroy (42 years old, from Lorraine, saxophonist, bearded fisherman, dad and now brewer) and Régis Barth (38 years old, from Lorraine, scribe, grumbler, all fired up, dad and now brewer) welcome you in their brewery installed at the back of the barn in May 2005, self-financed, tinkered with, adapted and assembled by them.

Most of it consists of adapted, salvaged or second-hand equipment. Since July 1, 2007, they have been renovating an old barn and stable in the village of Revermont Jura, La Ferté. They started brewing there in June 2008 with the aim of increasing production to a livable level, ie 300 hl per year or 3,500 bottles to be marketed per month.

Bottle at Moeder Original. Bit hazy golden with short lasting white head. Spicy yeast, sweaty Brett, sweet vin jaune walnuts, hay, some funk, dank grassy hops, soft marzipan, bitter flowers. It has lots of Brett, but it’s not sour or too dry, I guess in part because of the barrels. Under medium sweet and medium bitter. Medium bodied with medium dry finish. Very good, not the worst beer at all from this already great brewery.

Shared together with the Israeli RB crew! Thanks! 750 ml. bottle split by 4. Clear golden, only some bubbles. Nose is metallic, wine, almost urinal in its funk. Nose isn’t the best,.... Taste is nice, vin jaune, is glorious, barrel is really good, walnut & sweet wine oxidation, white grapes, interesting suflur like notes, funny beer, barrel is really great but the base beer is obliterated, low mineral qualities,... Body is near flat. Very tasty but only thanks to the wine profile, no real beer interplay. I quite liked but just drinking the wine would have been better.
