6/10
A little boozy and bitter. Good malt and dried fruit flavors but drinks a little strong for a dubbel.

From tap at Mash Paddle, Bermondsey, with Terje 11.04.25. Translucent pale golden golden. Bright and fairly persistent white head and lacing. Decent aroma and taste of pale malt, bitter citrus, citrus zest and perhaps a hint of herbs. Crisp mouthfeel with lingering aftertaste.

Keg at the tap. Dark brown. Opaque. Thinnest beige head. Flavour fruity and gluey. This sums up the whole experience - aroma and flavour. Warming but lightweight.

Keg at Mash Paddle, 24/01/2025.
Deep mahogany brown topped with a light beige head.
Nose is earthy fruit rinds, toffee, sugar dusting, brown bread.
Taste comprises yeast esters, herb, toffee, light spice, dates.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close.
Decent enough for the style ... some spice balance and doesn't get sickly sweet as can happen with this style.
