The Real Al Company
Cidery in Walthamstow, Greater London, England 🏴
We are picky about our people and our products. We are not any old drinks distributor.
Starting as a one-woman show, Al created the Real Al Company by selling cask beer to pubs. It was while journeying through London that she noticed an apple-shaped gap in the market.
“I must bring proper cider to the people!” she exclaimed to a dark and empty pub basement.
One dog, one baby and a wonderful team later – we’ve opened a taproom and delivered enough tasty craft ciders, perry and beer to fill the Thames.

(Cask at Craft Beer Covent Garden, London, 24 Nov 2024) Pale golden colour with foamy, white head. Fruity nose with yellow apples, citrus, hay, grass, cinnamon and cardamom. Fruity, spicy taste with notes of yellow apples, lemon, cinnamon, cardamom and a finish with a moderate acidity. Light body, with a touch of sweetness. On the thin side, but refreshing, with an interesting spice touch. Nice one.

(Cask at Craft Beer Covent Garden, London, 24 Nov 2024) Amber colour with no head. Fruity nose with notes of apple, rhubarb and citrus. Fruity taste with apple, rhubarb, orange and a mild acidity in the finish. Medium body, with a slight sweetness. Refreshing and fairly uncomplicated. Nice one.

Pale gold with some spotted foam on top. Has a classic medium cider aroma but decent freshness, some juicy apple juice, skins, light dryness and funk. More of a sweet cider taste wise, somewhat syrupy, slight drying. OK.

Nice! Something a bit funky in there but not sure if it’s supposed to be. Bit of apple sweetness as you’d expect. It’s nice.

1/2 draft pint @ Craft Beer co, Covent Garden, merci Maria.
