On tap at the grand opening. Really an odd beer. Pours with a hazed golden-orange hue with a lasting off-white head. Aromas are lightly smokey, big bready and caramel malt notes. A bit of a citrus and floral hop character. Very different. Flavors are also very different than the norm (different, but not bad). Citrusy hop character, light caramel, wood/fire, smoke, biscuity malt profile (quite malty) and some alcohol notes. Medium to slightly fuller body. Not particularly dry. Medium bubbles. A unique and pretty tasty beer.

Draft. Hazy golden beer with an off-white head. Light spice and light wheat aroma. Light spice and light wheat flavor with light citrus. Medium bodied. Light spice and light wheat lingers with light citrus and light grain.

On tap. Pours with a minimal white head over quite a murky golden orange body. Aromas of vanilla, minimal ester and phenol for the style. Quite a bit of grainy and bready malt. A bit earthy and spicy as well. Minimal hop notes. Flavors are grainy, bready and wheat like up front. Sweet with a medium to strong bitterness for a hefe (medium to light bitterness in general). Dry, with some 4VG clove in the finish. Light but prickly carbonation (not sure if this was given time to fully condition) and somewhat dry for the style. Good. Looking forward to this once the recipe is dialed in a bit more.

On tap. Pours with a clear bronze body with a lasting off-white head. Retentive with good lace. Aromas are citrusy, lightly spicy hop presence. A bit of tropical fruit, a bready maltiness and some caramel sweetness to balance (apparently there isn’t any crystal malt in it...I’m not so sure). Flavors are grainy, a bit full and sweet for the IPAs on the west coast. Medium to slightly assertive bitterness, lightly floral and fruity qualities, mild esters. Medium bodied, and somewhat sweet. Feels bigger than 5.2%. Medium to light carbonation. Good first beer!
Re-rate: they have really started to dial this recipe in. Slightly hazy golden orange hue with a lasting white head and good lace. Big and punchy citrusy, hoppy aroma, lightly bready, but mostly hops. Flavors are medium to lightly balanced bitter (much more in balance than the first batch). Big floral and citrusy hop flavors. Still a touch malty (mostly bready and sweet), but much more hop balanced than before. You don’t notice the lack of alcohol in the flavor. Vastly improved.
