500ml bottle at Sockeye Alehouse. Clear golden pour, thin layer of creamy white head. Aroma is peppercorn, grassy yeasty. Taste is all about the peppercorn, snappy, spicy with a smidge of sweetness. Normal Saison notes underlie the dominant peppercorn, fruity. The savory, buying peppercorns last all the way through to the finish. Subtle strength hidden by the savory bite.

500ml bottle at the Alehouse. Dark brown pour, spotty cream colored head. Smoky, ashy aroma, campfire. Taste is some sweet dark malts that quickly succumb to the smoky flavors, oak, ashy, woody. Some sweetness reappears at the finish, but the smoke lingers.

Draft at Alehouse. Black pour with a thin ring of beige foam. Big boozy aroma, strong, alcoholic. Taste follows with more alcohol, vodka tasting up front. Any of the stout/ pastry elements are buried in the background. Too much booze.

Half pour at Sockeye. Golden pour with a filmy head. Aroma is caramel, yeasty, bread. Taste is malty and sweet, bready, Belgian yeast, sweet, grassy, fruity. Velvety feel dries out, a little bit of mouth coating. Fast finish except for some lingering warmth.

Draft at Alehouse. Clear, pale golden pour, bubbly head, spotty lacing. Smoky aroma, oak. Taste cuts back on the smokiness, just a bit, to leave a nice biscuity base. Very smooth and a good gateway beer for smoked malts .

19oz can from Albertsons. Pours a foggy dull light orange. Light sweet citrus tangerine aromas and flavors. Full bodied and hinte of the ABV in the trailer. Pleasant enough for a big beer.

12oz Can. Clear medium golden pour right fine off white head. Nice tropical lemony hop flavors, more grassy and floral on the nose. Full slick feel.
