Can with illegible coding, drunk 3/2/26.
Smells more like Belgium with a touch of rice lager. Not getting much rice sweetness, though there is dryness/crispness on the end. Fair bit of Belgian yeast character without any clove or bubble gum (yellow fruits, light pepper, hint of banana). If I smelled this blind, I'd guess something along the lines of a Belgian pale ale/single.
Again it's quite Belgian, and nicely so, with fruity esters instead of crude clove/bubblegum/banana. Slight pepper but no sharp bitterness. The rice lager part seeming to soften/sweeten the Belgian part. Well-carbonated and with a malty texture and great flavor for its size. Maybe this has cleaned up a lot in the can, or maybe it was very clean to begin with. Either way, I'm sorry I narrowly missed going to Strangebird last time I was in Rochester. Hope to make it there some time. This is a very well-done beer and their draught list looks fantastic.

Draught @ Bierwax, Brooklyn NYC (Jul 2025). Faintly cloudy golden with a small frothy off-white head, earthy vanilla aroma, medium carbonation, mildly bitter malty taste with basement flavors typical to Belgian yeast, smooth body, long finish. Smooth and flavorful.

Draft at As Is one beer too many for me. Clear orange ruby pour and smallish head. Nose is. Acidic balsamic and cherry. Tastes much the same. Dry and tannic.
