Cask at the Half & Half, Croydon. It pours golden amber with a medium white head. The nose is earthy, wood, light toast, varnish and touch of something grassy/herbal I’m the background. The taste is crisp, bitter pine, varnish, earth, light toast, resin and grapefruit zest with a dry, rather bitter finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Smooth and damn bitter. One of Cronx’s best to date.

Cask (handpump) @ Cock Tavern, 315 Mare Street, Hackney, Greater London, England E8 1EJ.Clear light medium amber orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, fruity, flowers, orange - citrus, nectar. Flavour is moderate sweet and moderate to light light heavy bitter with a long duration, nectar, flowers, sweet malt, caramel, orange hops, light alcoholic. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20130812]

Bottle from the Brewery. It pours hazy pale gold with a medium white head. The nose is earthy, juicy pineapple, white grape, vinous and tangerine. The taste is rather bitter, grapefruit rind, citrus zest, white grape skin, bitter straw, soap and a touch of alcohol warmth with a very dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Nice intense fruitiness to it. No real depth, but pretty tasty.

Cask at the Lyric, Soho. It pours deep amber-brown with a medium white head. The nose is wood, earthy, toast, light spice and caramel. The taste is wood, earth, spice, caramel, sponge cake and orange peel with a dry finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Not a whole lot going on, but decent enough.

Bottle from The Beerhive. Muddy copper body with a thin white head that fades to nothing. Light lacing. Mild aroma of metal, stewed fruit and nuts. Flavour is toasted malt, caramel and fruit. Faint bitterness. Thin body with a watery texture. Soft carbonation. A reasonable, straightforward Bitter.

Tasting at Bruce’s pad. Thanks to Paul. Hazy gold beer, no real head. Nice niff off orange and orange marmalade. Palate is fairly neutral with light minerally carbonation. Taste follows the nose and adds grapefruit and a touch of lemon. Light crisp finish. Nice fresh orange here.

Bottle shared at Bruce’s in London - many thanks to Paul. Pours mostly clear orange with a slight, bubbly white head. Some orange citrus in the nose, a bit of pine. Light to medium sweet flavor, some tangy citrus fruits, tangerine, lemon and orange, light melon and pine. Medium bodiednwithnsoft carbonation. Slightly resinous to finish with rindy citrus, tangy tangerine. Tasty beer but is lacking condition.

Bottle at home. It pours cloudy orange with a small bubbly white head. The nose is juicy mango, apricot, passion fruit, orange chewitts and sherbet. The taste is orange squash, grapefruit, passion fruit, marmalade, peppery, grass and resin with a dry, bitter finish. Medium body and low carbonation. Cronx’s hoppiest and most bitter beer to date. Nice juicy tropical fruit stuff going on, but unfortunately it’s under-carbonated. Still pretty decent and step in the right direction.

Cask at the Crown & Anchor Brixton. It pours clear amber with a small off-white head. The nose is pithy citrus, grainy, light toast and faint caramel. The taste is pretty mellow.... toast, doughy, light caramel, grapefruit, pithy lemon and earth with a dry finish. Light body and soft carbonation. Pretty so-so. Nice Idea but would like the hops cranked-up asap.
